#9 Hot 100, #30 UK
I love this ballad. It's one of my Aaliyah favourites. She was capable of putting REAL emotion into her songs and this is a perfect example. She sings this just right, it's fantastic.
"I thought we had forever, I can't understand How could you just walk out the door? How could you not love me anymore?"

I love this song. I remember it being the main reason I boughther album. Had it been sung by a bigger artist, this would have been another Diane Warren tune to hit #1. I loved the video with her standig in the rain!

It may have been a bigger hit, but I don't think it would have been one tenth as good had some wailing diva recorded it. Aaliyah did it just right.

In the 90's certain names had an easier time getting certain songs to go to #1. Brandy, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, or Monica could have all took that song to #1. All of them had successful runs with a Diane Warren track. But Aaliyah still did a great job withit, its one of my favorites from her but a few of the others could have took it to the top with the combination of a better voice, bigger name, and good song.

Err...you have a point. Yeah, Aaliyah at the time, was in the growing process of becoming a prime diva. All the artists that you have mentioned are true veterans of the music business, well actually, singers whether it's singing backup to even being session singers.

I remember hearing this song for the first time and thinking, "Wow, I didn't know she had the voice for a song like this." She used the best of her voice on this track.

I really like the video version of this song. The album version wasn't as good.

I never liked it, she always sounded best on modern productions.

Eh, it's alright. It's definitely one of her weaker singles.

This should have been her top hit in the same vein as Brandy's Have You Ever and Monica's Angel Of Mine.

This is easily one of her finest songs. I adore the original but I prefer the Soul Solution remix from the single. Soul Solution was on fire during that time and their remix elevated the song even further.

I'm surprised pop radio didn't touch this given it was a big Hot 100 hit, only #47?
Anyway, this was one of my favourite discoveries from the Aaliyah rankdown, I enjoyed hearing her sing like this on a track.

This song was quite different than the typical mid/late 90s R&B ballad and could had made an impact on AC radio (similar to Brandy's "Have You Ever"). On the radio, this was played on B96 in my market and WGCI may had played it too although this song may had sounded too pop/AC for the urban or adult UC stations. It's not a bad song but it's not my favorite from her. music video www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnFKa8iuwHU

I loved this immediately. I knew what they were trying to do.
But, Bitch... there was no way she was going to top AT YOUR BEST!
