First single from his 2001 album Invincible. Does anyone know its peak on CHR/Pop, Rhythmic, and Urban????

It was a disaster comeback for MJ even at the time of the 9/11/2001 tragic events.

I got burnt out on the original version of this very quickly. I thought the music video was decent.
There was a really good remix of this by Junior Vasquez. It never was released though. It made the song tolerable.

Again, people were expecting so much (and rightfully so, I guess) that this is hugely underrated. Very addictive.

It could be said that 9\11 had a lot to do with the non-comebacks of both Michael Jackson and Elton John. I'm being completely serious. What??? I do not think Michael jackson making comeback had anything to do with 9/11. Michael Jackson wanted to save the world , right?? Not cause the buildings to fall down. RIP 1958-2009

It wasn't that bad, but it did sound too much like a throwaway 80's song that would have been filler on his previous albums. The problem with the video was that he used the hat to completely cover his face so it was awkward and of course he was copying himself really since it was just another video version of Smooth Criminal.

While this is not one of my all time favorite MJ songs, I do enjoy it. The hate this song gets always surprised me, though, I must say. I mean, it's not some unlistenable wreck, on the contrary it's catchy and inoffensive.
The video was cool. I remember watching it when it first came out, when I was starting to get into Michael's music.

Thumbs down. Weak song and Darkchild did this kind of track much much better on Whitney's If I Told You That.

It's ok. Kind of predictable 2001 MJ lead single.

It doesn't hold a candle to his classics, but it's better than what I thought he could come up with in 2001.

This is awesome, people were so ridiculously hard on this. The chorus is super catchy, the pre-chorus and bridge are nice and the production is so loose, I love the piano especially. His vocal is on point, it was so refreshing to hear him singing like this again.
I could have done without Chris Tucker and the video was creepy af, but you can't win 'em all.

Yeah this one has grown on me. I think being a big comeback lead single of sorts hurt it because it doesn’t deliver on that front, but it’s a catchy song that reminds me of his 80s stuff and it works on that level.

Even if it's not my favorite kind of song by MJ, or his strongest single, there was still that larger-than-life magical feeling swirling around it for me. I was also working at CHR radio at that time, and as a kid I'd think about how cool it would be to intro and play brand new MJ music. This song was my first (and last) chance - so it has a special place for me.

It was a good song that I had really liked back then.
The video was cute.

You Rock My World has honestly aged better than 90% of Darkchild’s hits at the time.

This song was pretty solid. I loved it. And I agree that it has aged well.

I used to hear this song on the urban stations (WGCI, V103) when I was younger. I think the pop stations (B96, Kiss FM 103.5) played it too but don't recall actually hearing it on those stations. As for the song itself, it's okay but Michael's best days were far behind him as he was known for his tabloid antics rather than his music at that point.

This celebrated its 20th anniversary on the 22nd. Can't believe that! The video has over 200 million views now as well.

I was a fan of this song and video. I liked his strut in the staircase and that girl's dance breakdown.

I thought this was kind of a lame at the time for a big comeback single but I love it now. A great lowkey jam. "Liberian Girl" is still my fave MJ song though

I think it took me a second to get into this. His projects were always hyped beyond belief and I think I was really getting into Rodney Jerkins a little before this came out. So at first listen I was disappointed, but once I got over the hype I ended up really liking it a lot!

This is such a bop! This was on a Michael Jackson Greatest Hits CD that my parents used to play when I was young, so I grew up hearing this and have loved it since I was a kid. Seems like a hot take based on most of the other posts this thread, but it has a special place in my heart <3

Great song. I sure miss Michael. Just another of his songs that makes me smile and want to move.
