It's hard for me to believe this song is already three years old. That's probably because I kept it on repeat for a good year after it came out. This was his flop lead single from the album Comin' From Where I'm From. His music stands out for me because it's not at all gimmicky or contrived, which is rare in contemporary urban radio. That's precisely why I like this song so much. It really relies on its great lyrics and hard-hitting mid-tempo beat. Plus, he has an excellent gruff voice for these sorts of gritty bluesy R&B. Anthony Hamilton is a tragically underrated R&B singer, IMO. I hope he continues to achieve more recognition outside of Urban AC circles now that "Charlene" and "Can't Let Go" have become respectable hits. US R&B: #60

Wow, great song and album. And while still underrated, he somewhat managed to finally get the credit he deserves.
