The original was better, but this was a decent effort from them.

The original was better, but this was a decent effort from them. And "them" was really Robert Palmer. In my opinion, Palmer's finest piece of solo work was the trilogy track Sailin' Shoes / Hey Julia / Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley. If you don't know that track, you don't know Robert Palmer.

I like this better than "Some Like it Hot" and better than the original, though there is a nice contrast between the two "Get it On"s. If I'm not mistaken, aren't the only members of Power Station who are still alive also the members who were from Duran Duran? The original was better, but this was a decent effort from them. And "them" was really Robert Palmer. In my opinion, Palmer's finest piece of solo work was the trilogy track Sailin' Shoes / Hey Julia / Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley. If you don't know that track, you don't know Robert Palmer. Then I guess I don't know Robert Palmer. But then again, that track probably pre-dates my coming into this world, so I suppose I might have an excuse.

This is a great, extremely busy, rollicking track - all those guitars, synths and drums! It kind of overwhelmed the song, at least for those who were fans of the T-Rex original.
And yes, John Taylor and Andy Taylor are the survivors of this one-CD superband. I saw them in concert in 1985. Robert Palmer wouldn't/couldn't tour with them, so vox were handled by the super-underwhelming Michael DesBarres.
