This should have been a much bigger hit IMO. I love the lyrics and her vocal is superb.
"Give it up baby, I hear your goodbye nothing's gonna save me I see it in your eyes Some kind of heartbreak honey Give it a try I don't want pity I just want what is MIIIIIIINE"
I thought it was boring when it was out, but now it's my fave song of hers.
My OCD's acting up and that bracket is annoying me.

I love her version of "Cry." Great lyrics and powerful emotion. It should've been a lot bigger. This is a great tune to listen to when you're angry-sad.
Angie Aparo's version was also good. They're both quite different.

I really like this song. It sounds like an 80's power ballad.
Not a country song, but this should have done better on Pop.

Overblown bombastic power ballad. The song was bigger than her voice and she couldn't handle it. All the live performances were awful.

Absolutely horrendous and overdone. Terrible vocals too.

I love this song so much, one of her best, it's so good and one of those songs that you can totally feel when you listen to. This was actually one of my Top 10 songs in 2002. I love the whole album.... the song and album should've done better.

Angie Aparo's version was also good. They're both quite different. I have the single. His version is much better although I like Faith's as well.

I preferred When The Lights Go Down, but this was great too. I like the b-sides as well.

Overblown bombastic power ballad. You could add "There You'll Be" to that equation too.

Lyrically, “Cry” is IMO, one of the best songs ever written. The lyrics are just so raw….so heartbreaking. I have always been a huge fan of songs written in ¾ time and I think it’s such a contradiction that this song sounds like a romantic waltz, when really it’s a devastating story of a painful relationship. So brilliant!
I like Faith’s version a lot, but in the chorus…she just belts it out. She does little to convince me she’s feeling the pain in the songs lyric. Angie Aparo’s version is incredible.

My favorite song from her. Slightly over-produced, but the lyrics and arrangement are too good to ignore.

Ever since I first heard this song, I loved it. I still do, today. And like benmcd2000 pointed out, I also love how it's a heartbreaking song but sounds like a romantic song. I think that's awesome.
I wasn't charting back when this was out, but if I were, this would've been a top 10 smash.
Does anyone knows any official peaks?

On the US Music Survey, Mark Wallengren mentioned it spent 48 weeks on the AC chart, spending five weeks at #1.

Faith never did a good live version of this, but I love the recorded version. The song itself is great, and Faith did a respectable job with it. It did deserve to be bigger, but it isn't really country, so she got caught between audiences.

On record this song is alright but she sounded awful live. One of her most underwhelming singles.

This is a difficult song to sing live; fortunately Faith managed to pull it off...

I found this song so boring and her vocals so dry and unemotive that it was painful.

I found the song dull as well. I haven't heard it for a very long time, even on AC radio.

Cry reached #33 on the pop charts in 2002 but only got to #12 on the country charts

This is a great song. She conveyed more emotion than I've ever heard from her. My fave from her.
