Back when Vanessa had big curly hair, when she was a new artist on the scene... This song is practially pure pop from the start

This is one of my favorites from her, though my #1 favorite is "Dreamin'".

I'd never heard this song before, until I hopped over to Amazon to listen to a piece of the song. Sounds good, but it doesn't hold a candle to "Darlin' I", my favorite song by her and one of my all-time faves in the world.

This song is still the jam as far as I'm concerned. Great beat, and the "nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey, hey" chant is catchy.
They show this video on the VH1 Soul and VH1 Classic channels quite a bit (along with "Dreamin"). The choreography is pure 80's, as are the horredous looking pants she's wearing. And for some reason, all of her dancers are incredibly unattractive. I guess they didn't give her a big enough budget to hire good-looking ones.

It was OK. My favorites are "Save The Best For Last" and "The Sweetest Days."

This song is practially pure pop from the start Are U Sure? ;) Seriously, though it sounds pure Urban, and I was surprised at the response that it got in Europe. I liked this one as one of her best up-tempo songs as well as her follow-up "He's Got The Look".

Definately the jam right there! However, I do prefer Darlin' I and Dreamin' among the hits of hers.

[ 3 4 (He's Got) The Look 15 HappinessOf the fifteen songs Daniel listed, I only know twelve of them. Here they are in rank order: 1) Darlin' I 2) Love Is 3) Colors Of The Wind 4) The Sweetest Days 5) Save The Best For Last 6) Running Back To You 7) The Right Stuff 8) Work To Do 9) Just For Tonight 10) The Comfort Zone 11) Dreamin' 12) Where Do We Go From Here I may have heard "The Way That You Love" since, as I recall, it charted sometime in 1989, when Zip 104 was running "American Dance Traxx". But I don't remember how it goes. ANd if I've ever heard "Happiness" or "(He's Got) The Look", I don't remember how they go either.

It's pretty good. I liked "Runnin' Back To You" better.

"Happiness" is one of the songs featured at the link I posted earlier. There also was a "Happiness" topic on these boards.

You must've gotten the title confused with Paula Abdul's The Way That You Love Me which came out in '89.

The Right Stuff got to #44 on the Pop chart in 1988 but Vanessa's popularity got her a best new artist nominee

I like it, I don't love it. I want a new R&B album from 'Nessa, I've missed her music!

Excellent track. My favorite single from the album. I wish her uptempo songs got the attention her ballads did.

I love it, but my favorite uptempo from her is "Running Back To You".
I also made her Hot 100 discography video:

I love it, but my favorite uptempo from her is "Running Back To You". I also made her Hot 100 discography video: I hand't really thought about how sporadic her hits were, and more so how after "Colors of the Wind" she didn't do much at all.

My absolute fave single from that era is "Dreamin", but this is a great fun bop to dance to, regardless!
