I think this was Karyn's second highest-charting single ("Romantic" is her only #1).
Fun song, this is my favorite by her.

I think this was Karyn's second highest-charting single ("Romantic" is her only #1). Fun song, this is my favorite by her. Yes it was her second highest according to Billboard a #6 peak. And on R&R there is a tie between "The Way You Love" & this hit both getting as high as #6 as well! They released this in the UK in late 1988 as her second single from her debut LP. I should have bought the CD5 single when I had a chance with a some remixes, really before I left back to the US.

ia. Totally reminds me of "Escapade". Good song. Her debut had a lot of good tracks. Not surprised she didn't become bigger, though.

This was produced by Babyface & L.A. Reid.
The production on this almost identical to Bobby Brown's "Don't Be Cruel".

I liked all three singles from the Karyn White album. And we can't forget about "Facts of Love." :)

I should have bought the CD5 single when I had a chance with a some remixes, really before I left back to the US. There is a Japanese maxi CD of Romantic that includes the remixes to Secret Rendezvous and The Way You Love Me that is worth seeking out. SR was my favorite by Karyn. Great jam!

This is my least favorite single from her debut, but the majority of that album was very strong (this included).

Her sole #1 on the Dance chart, but it was also the #1 Dance hit for all of 1989 as per Billboard*. *Page 146. Yeah, it's lengthy.

I much prefer this song over "The Way you Love Me". She reminds me of a lot female singers during that time...Janet, Pebbles, Paula Abdul, and Jody Watley.

I love this, one of my favorite singles by her. And the video always cracks me up. That choreography...
Also, the After Hours and Zanzibar mixes of this are ACE. They really hold up well for 80's club mixes.

And the video always cracks me up. That choreography... LMAO the budget Paula Abdul video and choreo is so ironically memorable.

I was always surprised that Karyn White wasn't bigger. Secret Rendezvous and Romantic were by far two of her best.

Karyn White was super talented, gorgeous, and she could dance. She should've been a bigger star than she was. I remember being 11 years old and waiting for this video to be played on MTV.

My girl was serving us Jody Watley in the video but the song is perfection. One of her best singles. Still goes.

This is decent but I prefer "The Way You Love Me", "Romantic", and "The Way I Feel About You" over this one.
