Their harmonies never sounded quite as good in the singles they released after "Runaway Love." This song is no exception: It's ok, but nothing spectacular.

This was a hot song! I'm going to spin this next after Joe's "Where U At". Anyway back to the song, I have no idea why Urban radio slept on this. I know our local Urban station here in MPLS (KMOJ) played this quite a bit.

this is definately my second favorite En Vogue song. my friends got so sick of me playing this out. i liked the cd it was on as well. it had the "en vogue love suite" and that was pretty cool.
but yeah, i loved this song and the video. it was a hit in my world.

I liked it. Like Rick Dees once mentioned, the lyrics were inspired by the children's nursery rhyme "10 Little Indians."

The Riddle got to #92 on the Hot 100 in 2000 And it reached the 30s in R&R. Talk about a big difference - over 50 notches.

I remember almost trying to force myself to like this for nostalgia's sake. It wasn't good though and sounds even worse listening to it now.

This was the closest thing to contemporary on the Masterpiece Theater CD. They tried to go high brow and it blew up in their face. That song about men being dogs was howlingly bad.....

49 40 39 38 36 34 32 33 34 36 41 43 This was the R&R chart run. I thought it was a pretty good song.

I actually really liked it when it came out. Still do :) The second verse is hilarious about the letter in your pocket from Lousie... PLEASE!

I like it, but that album was not good, and it didn't come close to their glory days.

This was a good single but it's far from their best. This one never really took off and tbh I can see why.

it's alright. Before checking back on YouTube I only really remembered the chorus part.

It's a cute song. Nothing spectacular though and doesn't hold a candle to their best stuff. I always thought the video was hot though.

This was terrible. I was surprised by how much I hated it, given that I hadn't disliked any of their prior singles.

I love this song so much!!!!!!!!!!! I guess the polarized reactions in this thread are why the song didn't blow up back in 2000.
I do agree that the Masterpiece Theater album as whole was weak. Soul Flower was so much better.

I agree that the album was lackluster, but this song was great. And the video was hot! It should have been a bigger hit.

A bop. Love the "My Lovin'" sample in there too.

LMAO, the club remix of this just popped up in a mix I was playing. It's cute, but did MJ just take the instrumental of "Waiting For Tonight" and lay En Vogue's vocal over it? It's not even subtle.

Maurice was notorious for doing this. His Digital Black-N-Groove mix of "Bills, Bills, Bills" is a cheap and obvious imitation of the Thunderpuss mix of "It's Not Right, But It's Okay."
