The Pointer Sisters had plenty of unbelievably cheesy songs, like "I'm So Excited" and "Jump (For My Love)." But they also had a handful of pretty solid pop songs: "Neutron Dance" (from the 1984 soundtrack of the excellent Eddie Murphy movie Beverly Hills Cop) is one of my favorites from them. It's got a pretty slick synth beat and cool harmonies. Maybe I like it so much because it reminds me of the movie. It came along at the high-point in their career when they were having rapid-fire hits. Classic pop. Cheesy video. US Hot 100: #6 US R&B: #13 UK: #31

I liked it when it came out, but it was far from their best.

I didn't like the song, and that was for the same reason I hated "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree".

I love this song! I remember when I was very very very (very) young and seeing them perform this on Disneyland's 30th Anniversary Special. (Of course, I had seen it several times on tape.)

Casey played a drop of it recently before playing "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree." He pointed out the similarities between the "woo-hoo's."

Not a favorite of mine, but rare is the Pointer Sisters song that I don't like at least a little. This one's fair to middlin', I'd say.

It's so cheesy, but musically so on point.. plus their vocals per usual were on fire with this. Still makes me laugh a bit that so you think you can dance australia did a pop jazz routine to this song lmfao (but it was cute).
