Great remake of the 80's hit by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. Im suprised this got so high on pop, peaking at #7.

This song is so much better than the original it is not even funny. This is one of my all time favorites. The whole cd is really really good. Too bad they couldn't follow it up with something worth while

It's better than the original, but I'm not crazy about the song to begin with. The second single, "Head Over Heels" was better.

I forgot how it went. However, I do remember this girl let her smart friend borrow the CD in my science class. The smart girl was so excited (I guess she doesn't buy a lot of CDs) and said "I can't wait for school to end so I can go home and listen to it!"

Very good song. I've never heard the original. The original was performed by Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam back in 1987. It was their first charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 but only could manage a peak at #86. It's not a bad track but Allure and 112 blow their version away

??? It was their third Hot 100 single, and hit #8. And it's from 1986. I liked the remake, but it couldn't hold a candle to the original, which is my favorite song of the 1980s.

the thing i don't like about it is how POPPY it sounds, when Allure can sound much more soulful than that, and 112 too obviously. it's really only "eh" for me.

Bring back memories of late 1997 when my life was in turmoil. Not my favorite.

I didn't really like Lisa Lisa's version when it came out cause I was more into her freestyle stuff, and I didn't really care for the remake much, but now that my little honey is getting over her relationship, I have to hear this song about 10 times a week for the past few months. so i guess its growing on me.

Allure did a good job of covering this song. Her version conveys all the pain and feelings that are in this song.

This was great. Z100 still gives it a few daily spins here and there.

The original is 1000000x better. Well, the original is really 1000000000x better. ;) Seriously, how can you even compare this version to one of the classic R&b/Pop anthems of all time??? Allure's version is OK... but it can't hold a candle to Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam/Full Force's version... The sad thing is that I almost didn't give the original version of this song a chance... I hated Lisa Lisa's first song " I Wonder If I Take You Home" so much (thank you KCAQ "Q-105" for spinning that one to death)... that I didn't even listen to it until it had reached the top 20 of the Hot 100 and R&R... once I finally heard it, all I could think was... "WOW... this is REALLY good"... This song single-handedly changed how I listened to music... From this point forward, I started listening to songs based on their own merit a lot more, rather than having a biased opinion based on a previous song by that group I didn't like... though I feel into that trap again in 1997 with En Vogue's "Don't Let Go (Love)... but that's for another thread... ;) "All Cried Out" was the song that "the PD's loved to hate" as Billboard once said... but it ALWAYS got a ton of requests whenever the PD's were brave enough to spike it...Despite the huge obstacles it faced in getting adds, the song got to the aforementioned #8 on the Hot 100 and spent 13 weeks in the top 40 in 1986... Today, it's probably my all-time favorite R&B flavored song of the 80's...

The original version of this had a strange run on the R&R chart. It moved up at a steady pace until it hit #9 in its seventh week, then it suddenly lunged down to #17. The next week, it fell to 19 and then to 22. Then, it resumed normal movement of a declining song and fell to #34. Not sure how close it came to making the Top 86 of 1986, though.
