Did they change the "Sometimes the snow comes down in June" line to "Sometimes the snow comes down in January" in Australia? Jokes aside, I think this is a good but not great song. The melody is gorgeous (one of the prettiest I've ever heard in a pop song), but the lyrics are cheese (not that cheesy lyrics bother me, I like a crap ton of Hair Metal ballads) and, while a very good singer on a technical level, Vanessa Williams doesn't have the charisma of, say, Whitney or Mariah (she does have the looks, though, or at least she did at the time). Overall, I'd give this a 7.5/10.

On this day, 20 years ago, in 1992 Vanessa Williams got her 3rd #1 r&b hit and her first #1 BB hot 100 hit with Save The Best For Last. It is one of the most recognizable songs of the 90s and is still played today. It has definitely aged well and is one of the best songs of all time.
