The song that flooded the dance floors of Proms across America, after being featured in Vision Quest this was also the first ballad to Top BB for The Queen of Pop 20 dazzling years ago. Two decades later, it still holds up nicely. Some might dismiss it as a bubble-gum slow burner, but the lyrics are simple, but romantic and her delivery is passionate--probably more so than in Take A Bow.

This is a great song. One of her best. The lyrics are simple, as is the production, and it works.
I liked how it was used in the Jennifer Garner movie 13 Going On 30.

One of her best ballads. I also liked Gambler from this era.

The "For You" was spelled out as it is, not a la Prince. ;) Anyway, I liked this song. Was sort of disappointed that it won the crown for the 1985 R&R year-end chart over "Can't Fight This Feeling", but at least it was a great song (and CFTF was the top song of 1985 on Dan Ingram's "Top 40 Satellite Survey")

I'm not crazy for this song.
It was just on the radio when I was driving with my mom. She was singing to it... I mean it's a nice song and all. The productions nice, her vocals are nice.
But I don't know, I'm more of a "Spanish Eyes" guy. haha

Love, love, love it. It gives me goosebumps. I waited so long to hear her sing it live again, and she granted my wish on the Re-Invention Tour. Great stuff.

My aunt used to play this song and sing to me when i was like 3. I remember dancing to it in her living room, her pointing at me everytime the words "crazy for you" came on. It brings back good memories of my childhood. I get chills everytime I hear it. As a matter of fact, a few weeks back, my aunt called me on the phone and told me that that song came on the radio while she was driving, and she got all choked up listening to it. Great song.

It's never been one of my Madonna favorites, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear on one of Casey's shows a few years back that it was the #1 pop song of '85.

Ah-MAZING.
This is the song that really showed that M was more than just catchy up-tempo pop songs.

LOVE IT.
Borderline by-the-numbers, but several aspects stop it from being banal and schmaltzy.
Her best pre-I'm Breathless vocal as well.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crazy_for_You_(song)In Fred Bronson's The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits, Benitez commented, "The song was recorded live. It was the first time that I produced a live session, as opposed to having synthesizers and drum machines do everything. [...] I was tense because I had never done a record like this. [...] Everything I did was totally on instinct. I tried to make the song stand on its own, but at the same time work in the two scenes in which it was used in the movie." Benitez also noted that "Crazy for You" was an important recording for Madonna, as the song being a ballad, was openly accepted at adult contemporary radios. She had already charted with her singles "Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl", hence Madonna wanted to prove that she can sing in a different genre of music.[

This has become my favorite ballad by Madge.
I love the classic, old-school sound of this ballad. Madge did a very good job vocally too.
Live on the Virgin tour in 1985
Live on the Re-Invention tour in 2004
She needs to sing it again on the Rebel Heart tour!!!
