This woman had two really succesful. The first is the most important, it had three R&B #1's and three Hot 100 top 10's. This is from the second album, and is her biggest hit; #1 on both charts! Classic. She's supposed to release an album this winter, actually.

"The Way You Love" is my favorite by her, but this is a very solid song as well. Seems like I remember a maid's uniform in the video.

When this song was still at #2 in its tenth week on the chart, I thought this was a lost cause for number one, even though no likely contenders were near the top spot. Because of that, the song managed two weeks on top, meaning that it was still #1 in its twelfth week. The only other song up to that point to accomplish that was "Every Breath You Take" by the Police. That record was broken in 1993 when "Love Is" by Vanessa Williams & Brian McKnight topped the chart in its 13th week. And of course, now being at #1 with double digit weeks is the norm.
My opinion of this song - not one of my favorites, but the novelty of it being at number one with so many weeks on the chart made me like it a little bit.

This was on AT40's Top 40 of the 1990's (one of the few songs from 1990-91 to make it).
This is my second favorite by Karyn, behind "Secret Rendezvous".

this would have never went to #1 if the charts in 1991 changed a week or so earlier. 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss' by PM Dawn would have been #1 for longer and kept 'Romantic' out of the top spot. Billboard was tracking the new system along side the old one and PM Dawn was #1-

This was on AT40's Top 40 of the 1990's (one of the few songs from 1990-91 to make it). This is my second favorite by Karyn, behind "Secret Rendezvous". Yeah, weren't songs from #40 to around #27 all songs from before the PPW era and then everything from #26 on up from after the spring of 1994 (with maybe the exception of a few songs from the first four years that spent an unusually long time at #1)?

In my Top 10 of 1991 - a breath of fresh air at the time. Still sounds great today!

I loved thi song as well, I tried to be different. It seemed that every other station was playing the LP/single version. Well I played the Shep Pettibone remix with Jam & Lewis chanting in the "turning point" of the song. I used to own the CD single with a couple different mixes. Now I own only the LP mix.

That's the video for the following single, "The Way I Feel About You".

Love this song and it's aged very well... Of course since it's a Jam & Lewis production it sounds very Janet Jackson-esque. She later married then divorced Terry Lewis, left the business, and now works as a home stager / interior designer.....

Second fav. Karyn song, Superwoman will always have that first spot. Anyways, this is def. a jam though and the production is on fire.

37-25-19-15-11-3-3-2-2-2-1-1-4-12-22-39 R&R chart run. It managed 16 weeks on the chart. Pretty good song.

Wow. Can't believe this eternal jam does not have a thread yet. This song hit #1 on the BB HOT 100 and is easily my favorite from Karyn. I love every single thing about this song, especially the bridge!

Utterly Fabulous. But my favorite KW will always be The Way U ♡ Me.
I remember reading that she celebrated hitting #1 by visiting Chanel on Rodeo and buying a bag. How glamorous!

Such a JAM. Love the bridge/breakdown and her adlibs at the end especially. It's a shame how forgotten her second album/era is, because it had some great tracks.

First off, love it. Also love Secret Rendezvous.
Second, damn she was sexy. Thought she would have been more of a presence.

One of my all-time favorite songs. The entire album is one of my favorite R&B albums, and overall albums, really, at least from the 90s.
Her voice with that Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis magic .... YES INFINITY.
I'm a fan of all the singles from her first three albums.

Her best song, never gets old. Love the isolated background vocals on the bridge
