I always thought this was an attempt to recreate Christina Aguilera's "Come on Over Baby" (which isn't helped that both had a similar remix treatment for their single release).
That said, I love this song and album.

I remember LOVING this song back in the day, then not really liking the singer so much because she made some negative comments about Michael Jackson (or all the Jacksons) at the time.

This was a great song, but I'll never understand why they never released Always Come Back To Your Love as the followup in the US.

A large piece of my childhood!!!!!! I love her album so much, and it holds up much better than almost any other teen pop album of the time.
The fact that they essentially stopped releasing singles from the album after this song is a crime, and then pulled "I'm Right Here" and scrapped the plans to make a second album. It's a crying shame.

Shame she never quite became as big as she deserved to be, but anyway I still love this song and as well bulk of her other singles too.

Nice pop record. So much nostalgia.

This was a good follow up to Gotta Tell You.

IIRC, there was a version of this song that had something during the chorus that sounded as if a frog was croaking...couldn't stand that, so I liked the other version better. Kasem's AT40 played that version IIRC

My favorite from her. But Ma'am, those vocals right at the end of the 1st verse...

My favorite from her. But Ma'am, those vocals right at the end of the 1st verse... They fixed this on the single version, thankfully. Not sure how that was kept in the original. 😂😂😂 (Unfortunately, the single mix is not on Spotify atm.)

Great song. Her best single easily and should have been her biggest hit
