This techno song was first a big hit in the U.K. It was released in the U.S. in 1992 but didn't hit the Top 40 until '95 I believe. It spent somthing like 17 weeks in the Top 40 but didn't peak very high.

Yeah, peaked at #29 on R&R's Pop chart, with 17 weeks in the Top 40.
I like this song (but I like "Twilight Zone" better).

This is one of those songs that had so many different versions, even just slightly different, that no two listens were exactly the same....!

Cool song, but there is a bit of a burn-out factor for me.

It's classified as "techno-house".
One of the Jock Jams compilations has the "Unlimited Mega-Jam" by 2 Unlimited. It features a mix of "Twilight Zone", "Get Ready for This", and some of their other dance hits.

I remember it taking forever to finally make the national top 40. To me it was old by 1994, ya know because KDWB played the heck outta that record.

I Like this and "Twilight Zone" the best. Most their songs were cool. I also like "No one", "Faces", "No limit", etc.

This song is the definition of timeless. Also rap version >>>>>
In terms of growing up and watching TV in the '90s or watching sporting events, there's no way this song doesn't define the decade in some way.

This is one of those songs that had so many different versions, even just slightly different, that no two listens were exactly the same....! Many of the 2 Unlimited singles had many versions. The song originally came out in 1991. It was an instrumental except for the "y'all ready for this" spoken part (the Orchestral Mix). The producers of the group asked Ray (the rapper) to write some lyrics and then Ray brought in Anita who went on to be the other member of the duo to sing. That became the new Rap Version that was more popular. For the UK release, they went with an edit of the Orchestral Mix. There was a longer version on the singles called the 12" Version which had an additional rap verse not heard in the short Rap Version.

I believe there was also an edit that featured Anita's part but not Ray's. Speaking of hockey, I remember a version of this being used in the SNES NHL '96 game.

I liked this song when I was younger but I'm burned out by it due to overplay at sporting events. Also, I prefer "Twilight Zone" to this one.
