Talk To Me went to #21 on the Hot 100 in early 1987.
A live performance from Solid Gold:
Look at his hair! Look at his flat stomach! (lol)

This was my favorite song when it was out at the time. Had Chico not gone to jail, he'd been a bigger star.

After he got out of jail he had bigger R&B hits. I think jail time hardened him up, back then he was kinda soft.

What other songs did he do? I remember he did a duet with Joe.

It's alright, but "Give You What You Want" is my favorite by him, followed by "Love Still Good". "Talk To Me" peaked at #7 Hot Black Singles.
This was actually written for La Toya Jackson, but she rejected it because she thought it sounded too much like Janet.

"Talk To Me" is cool. I actually came up in here to say the single cover to "Talk To Me" is one of my favorites lmao I love that happy trail. The bridge to "Talk To Me" is sublime and the spoken part that hits right after is cheesy but works, especially the "PIIIICK IT UP!!". Surprised no one has made a mash up of this and Janet's WHYDFML or You Can Be Mine yet. I'm a huge, huge Janet fan, but I think I actually like TTM by Chico most out of the three.

This is still a jam. I love hard drums.
I am cackling at Chico's croptops. Perhaps he was inspired by Prince's look in Under The Cherry Moon?
