Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Love...............
I know that you all remember and enjoy this one. I still get excited when the Urban AC station in Philly WDAS FM plays it, which is quite often.
This song was simple but effective!!! I did like Cherelle and Alexander both, the latter was a great vocalist.
Does anyone know the chart run on this song?
P.S. Although I don't like Ashanti as a singer, I think she and Jahiem would do a KILLER remake version of this. What do you think?

This is probably one of the most loved 80's R&B tracks among the people here. This is the third nostalgia topic made about it since R&R started.
This is one of those songs where I can't even describe how great it is. Both are incredible solo artists as well. This is my favorite Cherrelle song technically since it's on her album.
I like Alexander O'Neal more as a solo artist.

I sound like a broken record, but I echo everything Josh said about this track. IIRC it peaked at #26 on pop charts, or in that neighborhood. Their other duet, from Alex's Hearsay album, "Never Knew Love Like This" to me is about as small a baby step possible under this in terms of sheer enjoyment. Both class records and both super artists. I've already mentioned countless times how much I idolized O'Neal at one time, but Cherrelle had some super hits too. I went to the Red Parrot years ago to see them perform together, unfortunately Alex never showed, so Cherrelle had to do this with her drummer.
O'Neal also appeared on another beautiful track of hers, "Everything I Miss At Home" but more as a backup vocalist.

I just played it tonight during my special edition of Josh Joel's Top 40. "The Greatest R&B Number Two Hits of All Time" (based on my personal opinion and enjoyment). i may post the chart later on.

This is one of several songs that I got to hear for the first time ever on AT40 Flashback, since the song never made the R&R chart and, as you may know, I wasn't yet listening to AT40, but rather, Countdown America, which went by the R&R chart. This song, along with "Digital Display" by Ready For The World and "Earth Angel" by New Edition, both non-R&R hits, peaked in the Top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 and were both heard on the Flashback show at least once. Actually, I had heard "Earth Angel" many times in 1986 and it's entirely possible that I'd heard "Digital Display" and "Saturday Love", but didn't recognize them, since they sounded like typical mid-80s dance music, as I recall.

I like this song. Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal have had a lot of good songs, both together and solo.

There has to be like 10 topics on this so I'll just say "I love it!" and not carry on about these two artists.

LOVE IT!!!! 1986, right? Chris Who, me? Yeah, April or May, 1986 (I know that it was at #31 on May 3, 1986, I think the week after it peaked. It debuted in the Top 40 on March 29 and spent six weeks on the chart, so it had to have been April when it peaked.

This tune went to #26 on the Hot 100 in April 1986 and it was the first of two top 40 pop hits for the R&B singer they had together

Classic R&B. Neither one of them ever made another song this good.

Do you remember the Billboard Top 40 hit from 1986 called "Saturday Love" by Cherelle and Alexander 'O Neal? It never made the R&R chart and in 2002 was heard in an AT40 Flashback show.
