Their only CHR/Pop #1 hit, though only made #2 Hot 100...
Also #6 AC & #7 R&B...
Good one...

It's okay. I heard this way too much. I remembering hearing this growing up on a number of pop stations while living in Phoenix, AZ. I prefer "He's So Shy", now that was a monster hit!

I used to hate this song, and love "He's So Shy". Now I hate that one and love "Slow Hand" (go figure).
My faves by the Pointers are "Dare Me" and "Fire".

For all of you who don't like this song, I'm assuming that you all are under 20. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is a stellar song. Nice and smooth on the R&B tip!! I love The Pointer Sisters and wish they were touring or something.

I love this song! I bought the song about two years after it charted, on the "Spun Gold" label, and on the flipside was "Should I Do It", one of many great lost 80s hits.

Absolutely my favorite of their hits. The song's mood is incredible, from the intro onward.

What about the Conway Twitty version (#1 country in 1982)?

I really love this song's mood/vibe and the production reminds me of the M*A*S*H theme song for some reason.

I don't like most of their hits, but this is one of a handful I do like. Great mix of R&B and that early 80's pop-country sound.

This is good but not my favorite from them. Often hear this on the adult contemporary stations back then.

The first line, As the midnight moon was breezing through the lazy sway of the trees⦠sounds like the opening of a book. Love it!
