I was suprised when I did a search and saw topics for "Everywhere," "Goodbye To You," "The Game of Love," "Breathe," "All You Wanted," and even "Till I Get Over You," but not this.
Her second biggest hit so far, spending a huge 5 weeks at #4.
I still remember the first time I heard Michelle with "Everywhere" and then shortly after saw the video. Then to my suprise one day I heard "Are You Happy Now" on the radio and was very pleased.
She's had 4 top 10s, 6 total in the top 20.
"All You Wanted" #2 "Are You Happy Now" #4 "The Game of Love" (with Santana) #5 "Everywhere" #7 "Goodbye To You" #12 "Breathe" #19
I think Breathe was ripped off, but that's for the other topic.
It's hard for me to rank this song in her singles, they each have their own individual qualities. I had just brought it and "Breathe" back to my play list recently, and now this is featured on the commercial for some "O.C." rip off show on NBC. It's nice to hear it again.

One of my favorite MB songs. I also like "All You Wanted."

I'm one of the few people that like 'Hotel Paper' more than 'The Spirit Room'. When the first few Michelle singles came out, I always considered her just another singer/songwriter with nothing really special about her, just average. But then I bought her second CD when it came out, even tho 'Are You Happy Now' was really nothing special again but I heard so much good about 'Hotel Paper' so I tried it anyway and it really was good. In terms of her singles, 'Breathe' is probably my favourite but my favourite song is 'One Of These Days'.

I'll always remember the first time I heard this and how pleasantly surprised I was from the opening piano. The second verse with the guitars is amazing.
"Breathe" is like the theme song to every chick flick or teen romance show. I have heard it in so many trailers.

The second verse with the guitars is amazing. I was going to mention the exact same thing! The song would be good without it, but the guitars added to it.

I really liked this song a lot. It was just so great. The part with the guitars is lovely.

I hated this song! I tried so hard to like it after loving her debut album, but I never got the point of liking it.
I might like it more now, but at the time...barf. Big disappointment.

This is one of my favorite songs by Michelle Branch.
Hotel Paper was really underrated; I thought it was full of good songs.

One of those songs that crept into my head, and I now love, years later, cannot stop listening to it.

Not her best, but still a good song.

I liked this back then. Is Michelle Branch working on a new project? She had decent songs :)

yeah her new single "This Way" is too country, huge disappointment. I really like "All You Wanted," "Everywhere," and "Breathe." This one was ok

lyrically, this is by far one of the best songs of the decade, imo

I loved this back in the day but I can't say I still listen to any of her songs anymore, she kinda faded out entirely for me.

She's made a lot of great songs, and while I like this one it just seems like whenever I think of Michelle, I think of that expletive filled tirade that she threw at all of her fans on her fansite a few years back... it was so uncalled for and unprofessional.

Michelle is one of those in your face musicians like John Mayer. She rants and raves and says what she thinks and doesn't give ush what anybody thinks about it. She's got a new album coming out, she's been blogging and posted videos about it I'm glad she's back doing the rock thing, I was not into her country stuff at all

I love this song. I'd say it's my second favorite of her songs behind "All You Wanted", but her three big hits (as well as "The Game of Love") are all pretty close for me.
Could you tell it to my face, or have I been replaced ...

She's was pretty insufferable overall IMO. But this is a great song, easily my favorite single by her.
