I heard Exile's "Kiss You All Over" in a pizza joint at lunch the other day. I knew that it sounded familiar at the beginning, but just couldn't place the artist or title. Then that stupid chorus "I want to kiss you all over" came on and I realized what a cheesy song it was. But until that moment, I thought: wow, love this blast from the past! :) What do you think?

I still love this song. I remember my sister and I bought my mom this album for Christmas in 1978. Also, provides a funny moment near the beginning of Happy Gilmore.

Oh yeah, when he ends up sleeping with that old lady. Ugh! My favorite part of that movie was, of course, the brawl on the golf course with Bob Barker. "The price is wrong, bitch!" "I think you've had enough! Bitch!" Oh yeah, my thoughts on the song. It's not bad. Northcoast pretty much hit the nail on the head. The verses are pretty good, but the chorus was cheesy.

I have been listening to the Johnny Vicious Ova Remix of No Mercy's cover from 1997 a lot lately after I finally found the mix (had been searching since 1997!). Anyways, I dug out the original after having not listened to it for awhile, and I fell in love with it all over again. It's great. Much better than the remake.

Hot No Mercy remake! Nah--I like the original better.

Kiss You All Over was #1 for 4 weeks on the Hot 100 in 1978 for the pop group who latter scored several #1 on the country chart in the 80's

Love the video, but the music sounds somewhat distorted.

One other story about the song, I thought the song when I first heard it was called
"Kiss You On Grover"

This song is known for being the last #1 on AT40 during its 3-hour format and the first #1 when the show expanded to 4 hours.

A staple of AC stations, yet amazingly, only hit like #19 on Billboard's AC chart--in like mid September '78--weeks before its biggest AT40 HOT 100 impact. I don't think it was #1 on R & R either--right?
