This chic-produced single gave Carly a UK top ten, but was never a US hit. It's one of my favourites though, incredibly catchy.
"Why, does your love, hurt so much? La da da de da"

I do. It's a great song... prefer a few more of her songs than this one though.

Reminds me about how slow people were when these two worked with Deborah Harry as well, guess people couldn't get it.

I like this one a lot, but given that it was 1982, Simon only had a brief period of consistent single success, and funk-influenced productions were on the decline on mainstream radio after the mid-to-late 1970s, it doesn't surprise me that this basically tanked. I think the only way this would have succeeded would've been if Soup for One had been a box office smash.

Good point, it's a shame though because the only redeeming thing about that movie was the soundtrack lmao actually.

I used to not really like this, because it's so strange to hear Carly Simon doing a song like this. It's pretty infectious though and has great production. The video's as cheesy and awkward as the song. The 12" remix beefs up the Chic influence.

Didn't know she had a single in the 1980s as her heyday was in the 1970s. That said, I do like this song despite its quirkiness. Still not her top song, however.

Yes, it's weird hearing Carly Simon doing this kind of music, but this is a straight up JAM. The 12" mix is dope too.
