It was a worldwide hit back in 1999/2000. This dance song has one of the best melodies ever... and you combine that with Alice's amazing vocals, a huge hit appears right in front of your eyes. This song is just so memorable... even if you don't like dance, you may still like it.

Brilliant song. Their followup 'Back In My Life' was great too.

I hated this song when it was out but now I'd say it was one of the best dance songs of it's year.

Great song! I thought it was bigger than what it was, didn't it only peak at #19 on Pop? It sure get's a lot of Gold airplay though!

I liked this one a lot. I think I liked the follow-up "Back In My Life" more though. Definitely one of the standout good tracks in a year with maximum torture dominating the pop charts.

One of my all time favourite dance songs. There were three mixes for Better Off Alone Radio Edit 2:53 the one my Chr station played. Album Version 3:36 Vocal Clubmix 6:53 There were two videos made for this song. The Euro one she does not show her face in the music video. USA version she shows her face with two women. You can see the USA video version 2 of Better Off Alone at www.Singingfool.com go to the dance part.

This is one of the best dance tracks of All time. I just wish my personal chart was out back when this was a hit. I wish it could be re-released. Was there two videos to this?

All I have to say is that the average post in this thread has more words than that song did. Talk about repetitive.

"Do you think you're better off alone Do you think you're better off alone Talk to me Talk to me"
Yes, indeed, it was repetitive. But I'm sure it's more fun to dance to.

I wouldn't say that it's "brilliant" or anything, but I liked it. I agree that it was repetitive but I guess I would rather have a song with 2 sentences that make sense repeated over and over than a song with 30 extremely stupid sentences.

hello? anybody realize that this is a dance song? thus, it's supposed to have repetitive, lyrics that make no sense, and a big time infectious beat ;)

The lyrics don't have to be anywhere near Tori Amos quality, but they can't be so stupid that they're off-setting.

Brilliant song. Their followup 'Back In My Life' was great too. Thank you! :) My sister owns her album. I only listened to the singles off it, though. ;)

HATED this. I switched KIIS every time the had it on.
My Sarina Paris loving friend kept trying to get me into this Alice Deejay stuff.. Blech. I am better off without listening to her song.

How the heck does this song still get 200 plays a week?
I liked this though.

I wasn't too keen on this. It was an average dance song, that's for sure.

I like it! Not many lyrics. Kinda reminds me of "I'm Gonna Get You."

For some reason, someone played this at a house party I went to two weeks ago. Totally unexpected to hear a throwback like this...but awesome nonetheless. Imagine the scene -- 2006, people grinding in the living room to Run-It!, kid doing a keg stand in the corner...and then: do-dodo...everyone basically stopped, started dancing and screaming the (albeit few) lyrics, and 2:53 later, normalcy returned and Temperature kicked in.
