Remember this 1983 hit? It was the theme from "Tootsie." I heard this song at a resteraunt where I asked out the waitress. The lyrics really seemed to fit at the time. "Somethings telling me it might be you." I thought, "Yeah, that's the way I feel." But when she said no, I thought, "As the lyrics go "It MIGHT Be You." In this case it was not. But I still like the song to this day.

I still hear this ocasisonally on AC radio. A very good song lyricaly and musically, but I think Stephen Bishop's voice is a bit too whiny.

I love this song! This, and "On And On" are far and away my two favorite Stephen Bishop songs (though "One Love" and "Walking On Air" are pretty good, too). This is one of those songs that ages with time. I didn't particularly like it at the time it was popular back in the spring of 1983, but I soon grew to like it a lot. Too bad it couldn't get past #18 on the Pop charts.

I like this song... yet another one that did better on Cashbox and R&R's pop charts than in Billboard.

I heard this last spring on Music Of Your Life, which features mostly nostaglia songs, on one of our AM stations. It was like a forgotten oldie for me. A great song from a very funny movie!

I forgot about "Walking On Air." That was a pretty good song also.

I love "Tootsie" and have it on DVD. There are some great lines from the movie.
"I'd like to make her look a little more attractive, how far can you pull back?" "How do you feel about Cleveland?"

Did Phil Collins record a version of this song? I know he wrote it, and heard a song called "Walking On Air" that sounded like his voice.

I like it. Saw Tootsie on TV recently and remember hearing it there.

This was a big AC hit in 1989.

I love the scene in "Tootsie" when the song is playing. It's when Michael/Dorothy is on the farm with Julie and her dad. Romantic music (Stephen Bishop) is playing while the audience knows the whole thing is a sham. :)

This one should have definitely charted higher than it did... problem was this was 1983 and there were simply too many good songs out that year... I still hear this occasionally too on AC KOST 103.5.

I think it got to #1 on the AC chart. In fact, I'm pretty sure it did. It was one of the spotlight songs last year on AT10 when they were playing "Songs from #1 Movies of the '80s."

I like it. I remember hearing it quite a bit on Delilah when it was aired locally.
