This song only hit number 39 in 1984, but I remember it well. I didn't care much for the Thompson Twins, but I liked this song a lot. Does anyone remember it?

Yeah, it sounded sort of hillbilly for the Thompson Twins, but it was my favorite song at the time. I still like it.

I don't remember it but it is one of my favourite songs form them. I hear it quite a bit on that 80s channel provided by Muzak at my job. Also the single was a top ten in the United Kingdom, so that's not too bad..

I liked it. I remember the video too. I had no idea it had hit the Top 40 though.

This was one of a handful of songs that spent only two or three weeks on the R&R chart around the late 1984/early 1985 era and missed the Billboard Top 40 completely. Other such songs are "Had A Dream (Sleeping With The Enemy)" by Roger Hodgson, "Say It Again" by Santana, "Do It Again" by the Kinks and two Scandal songs, "Hands Tied" and "Beat Of A Heart".

You Take Me Up reached #44 on the Hot 100 both was the Twins' biggest UK hit peaking at #2.
