Easily one of my favorite Janet singles and videos. First time I saw this...I was so in love with her hair. Quite possibly her sexiest video. Damn, I love Janet.

The lyrics in this song confused me as a child, when she sings
"every word you said I have heard before"
For many years, I thought she was saying "you said, 'I have heard every word'"

This may be my least favorite Janet single from the 1986-1998 era.

I love the video but the song not that much. The Jungle Boogie sample irritates me.

JAM. Something about this is just so quintessentially 90's to me, in all the best ways. Janet's breakdown/bridge is just SEX. And I love the video, she was so hot in it.

Classic song. Classic video. Janet was at her best here. Love the remix as well.

What makes me think that I can say this to you? I Know How bad you want this!
One of my favorite songs as a kid and remains so to this day.

Yeah, love this one. It's my second favorite single from the era behind "Any Time, Any Place."

This may be my least favorite Janet single from the 1986-1998 era. Same here actually. Or at least bottom three. I haven't listened to it in years in fact, nor do I have any desire to, 'cause I just don't like it.

I hated that this was ignored on Number Ones/The Best. It was the only omission that bothered me.

Another strong single from Janet. So many from her 1993 album as well as just about everything she put out between 1986 and 1998. From the Janet era I think I would rank this 3rd behind "That's the Way Love Goes" and "If" when it come to my favorites. In my market, this was played a lot on B96 in late 1994/early 1995.

This has grown on me over the years. I’ve always preferred watching the video to this than listening to the song. It reminds me so much of the 90s.

I don't think people realize how soulful this song is and how heavenly the backgrounds are cc jenglisbe

I have always loved this. Synthesizer technology improved enough for the janet. era that nothing sounds dated to me, unlike the Control/RN1814 synths which are clearly 80s.
This song especially is like a dark horse favorite - I've loved it immensely since the first time I heard it and yet it never seems to get the level of wider love that songs like TTWLG, If, and ATAP get from this era.

I don't think people realize how soulful this song is and how heavenly the backgrounds are This also points out the 'girl group' influence of the song, which is of course also reflected in the Supremes sample. Beyonce deserves credit for weaving the history of Black music into her music and visuals, but we need to be giving Janet credit for this, too. From samples or guest appearances by Lionel Hampton to the Supremes to Sly & The Family Stone to Kathleen Battle to James Brown to Change and more, she often used the history of various forms of Black music in her own music. Her visuals of course paid homage to Cab Calloway and Africa, highlighted apartheid, etc. Rhythm Nation 1814 of course had a visual film to accompany it.

I hated that this was ignored on Number Ones/ The Best. It was the only omission that bothered me. This didn’t hit #1 anywhere but this could have been added as a bonus track in the US and it should have been on the international edition. I find it so weird that this song hasn’t appeared on any of her compilations.
