This is my favorte country-pop song of 1982. I think she was a one-hit wonder on the pop chart.

Yeah, she didn't have any other songs on the Pop chart, although I could have sworn that she sang what was back then known to me as the "God, I hope he comes back soon" song. That, of course, turned out to be "Seven Year Ache" by Roseanne Cash, which sounds very much like "Nobody". In fact, when I called a country station running an 80s show and asked if they knew that song, they said it was "Nobody" by Sylvia, and, of course, I knew that couldn't be right. It wasn't until April, 1999, which was a few weeks after that, that I found out what the song was when Casey Kasem played it as an extra on AT20 AC.
As for the song, I love it. It came from a period in 1982 when life was going great for me.

Nobody peaked at #15 on the pop charts in 1982 and that year was also a good year for me growing up

Good song. One of two artists billed as "Sylvia" to hit the pop chart (the other was R&B singer and Sugar Hill Records founder Sylvia Robinson).

Her name was Sylvia Kirby. She had already had at least one country hit called Tumbleweed before this song was released.
For the life of me I don't know why I remember that. I wasn't a big fan.
