one of the more pleasant 'social statement' songs of the late 60s, this one was unique in showing that there was more to poverty than uninterrupted misery. great funky guitar work here. one of my ccr favorites.

It was one of the best songs of its era.

I think my fave CCR track is "Up Around The Bend" with that super guitar riff. They were one of the biggest singles acts at one time I think, with something like 11 top 10 hits in a few year span. Another act besides the Beatles who also had major chart success with the B-sides of their singles, "Lodi" and "Who'll Stop The Rain" I think were flip sides of major hits.

This song was so/so. My favorite song by Creedence is "There's A Bathroom On The Right"

I think this song was adapted into an ad for a kid's toy back in the late '80's. I can't remember what the toy was called, though.

CCR made some excellent music back in the late '60s/early '70s. "Down On The Corner" was a great track. Other CCR songs I like include "Rolling On The River", "Cotton Fields", and "Bad Moon Rising" amaongst others.
Here's some trivia about CCR---they're the musical act to have the most #2 songs on the Hot 100 without ever actually reaching the top. I think they had something like five #2 singles.
Great band.

CCR made some excellent music back in the late '60s/early '70s. "Down On The Corner" was a great track. Other CCR songs I like include "Rolling On The River" "Proud Mary". But it should have been at least subtitled "Rollin' On The River". Just like The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" should have been subtitled "Teenage Wasteland".

Great song by a very prolific band. Considering they were only together for 3-4 years they had a TON of hits.

I enjoy most of their hits. They were featured on the last page of Billboard's year-end issue of 2014.
