Yet another song that didn't get the exposure it deserved. The song peaked at number 26 in the late summer of 1984 and I felt was one of the best songs of the year.
The follow-up song, "Real Life", a mid-charter on the AC chart from that fall, was also a good one. I have both of them on tape, though, since I heard "Real Life" on WHFB in Benton Harbor, which used to play automated tapes at night, so there would be lots of obscure hits played (sort of like at the store).
I taped "Alibis" off of Sunny 101.5 in South Bend back in 1988 when they still actually played it occasionally.

I love this song, probably even more than "Never Gonna Let You Go" (since it doesn't get nearly as much airplay as the earlier hit).

I love that song although it didn't give much love that it deserved. Both Alibis and Real Life are great songs to listen to. I have not heard those songs in ages.

Yes, this is a great obscure tune. I likewise remember it well, and believe it deserved better than a number 26 peak. Yet songs like "Let's Go Crazy," dominated the chart at that point in time. Seems so unfair.

I like it. It's featured on Crap From The Past[/url] Show of April 23, 2001. Fast forward to the 7:02 mark. It's the only full clip I could come up with. KQMQ doesn't play it but Tom Furci's Magic Of The 80's might.
