This was on the radio during the same time that these tracks were popular in 1978:
Melba Moore - You Stepped Into My Life Phyliss Hyman - Somewhere.. Musique - (Push Push) In The Bush Lakeside - All The Way Live Fatback - I Like The Girls Cameo - Insane
The lyrics go like this:
Everybody get on up and dance, dance to the music yeah

Wow, finally one I know - at least I think I know, but I have no idea who the artist is. Isn't this called Party Tonight?

Thank you but that's probably not it with a title or key words of that nature. Some of the club DJs sampled this in their custom remix of "Everybody Everybody" by Black Box in 1990.

Hamilton Bohannon - "Let's Start The Dance" from 1978 I think, or the early 80s re-do called "Let's Start II Dance."
Is the other main lyrical part "C'mon and do it... c'mon and do it... come on and do it do it do it, c'mon and do it."?

I heard two different mixes growing up. The 1981 re-recording withthe rap I heard that in the projects of southern Georgia in the early 1980s while visiting. You're the best! Now all I have to do is simply find it... :)

This is an incredibly well-produced funky Disco track. Love the groove of this.

This is good but I like the 1981 version (Let's Start II Dance Again) better.
