1968's 'Stand!' is one of the all-time greatest funk-rock albums. Every track on it is simply superb. This single was the biggest hit, a smash that lasted forever on American Bandstand. It stayed on their playlist for a long time because so many of the dancers did their best stuff to it. I believe this song might have helped a bit in the civil rights struggle. The melody is irresistible, and even racists couldn't stop themselves from singing along.

My dad is a huge fan of this group -- in fact most '60s and '70s music. I remember while on a vacation in Texas and Louisiana, he'd play this song every few days while driving. I actually got sick of it due to overplay lol! But seriously, I think it's a good song, irock, and I'm sure my dad has Stand! in his collection...

It's okay. I like some of their other songs better.

Not bad, but that damn annoying Toyota commercial a few years ago ruined it for me. I wish artists wouldn't allow their songs to be used in product commercials...

This was Sly And The Family Stone's biggest of their three chart-topper. It was #1 for 4 weeks in 1969.

I've heard it so much, it's hard to get geeked up over it at this point, but still, it's a good song.

Love it, but I hate Arrested Development's "People Everyday".

Very overplayed in TV commercials, but it's a classic with a great message behind it. It also peaked at #1 R&B.
