This such a powerful song. Mariah was at her best vocally around this era. I think this is a amazing song. Too bad songs like this wouldnt do well today.

It's one of my least favorite Mariah singles. The remixes were really good though.

Rick Dees used to play the remix. At least while the song was moving down the chart. It was OK.

I like it.
It was her first single to miss the top 10 on the Hot 100.

Actually, the upbeat version wasn't a remix. Mariah actually went back into the studio and recorded that new version. I did not like that one at all. I preferred the ballad version. WTMX in Chicago played a slightly different version of it, without the bass.

Actually, the upbeat version wasn't a remix. Mariah actually went back into the studio and recorded that new version. It's still considered a remix. Mariah re-records the vocals for 90% of her remixes.

OMG! Mariah's vocals are STUPENDOUS on this especially when she soars on "it's alright". This is my second favorite Mariah single.

I love the "it's alright" part too! And she works that high note at the end, but what else is new?

Yes, thank you for that clip. I had forgotten that there was a video to this song. Mariah looked hot. I just wave my hand at Mariah. She's too much to handle.

wasn't it like...#8 UK though? I was glad to at least see it was a major hit somewhere. Mind you, a lot of AYNAF's success was due to it being the follow up to "Without You", which was a massive #1 there.
LOVED that song though. It's still imo one of Mariah's best songs.

Thanks for posting those remixes Josh! I had both of the maxi-singles for this song, but due to the fact that I played the hell out of 'em, they got scratched real bad. That "Soul Convention Remix" is one of my favorites. :)

I like the soul remix. Did Urban radio play that version?
:o The Soul Convention version is better than the original and I LOVE the original! Mariah sings her ass off! AMAZING!
