I liked the big dress she wore in the video. Very kewl.
The video was NOT a "Friday Night" favorite, but since Monica won so many previous jukeboxes, Rita played "Street Symphony" when it didn't even win a jukebox! :)

The video was the BOMB. She slayed that room spanning skirt. The song was stellar and the lyrics were on point. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra put the icing on the cake by backing her.

Darren Grant directed the video. Monica dyed her hair in this one... Excellent song with an excellent video. Too bad that the song didn't do that well on the charts.

I didn't like this song at all. The strings were good, but it's just not a good song, overall.

I loved it. Also, I always thought "Street Symphony" would've been a REALLY good album title, particularly over "The Boy Is Mine: But then she wouldn't have sold as many copies. People wouldn't have been confused and bought it as the single. :) |

this is a great song, it was ahead of it's time and that's why it didn't do well... it may still be ahead of the time lol. it's a fan favorite though, and was also monica's favorite song. it was released largely BECAUSE it was monica's favorite. it hit #50 R&B, that's about it. the video was nice, she did some performances. it was the first time she did the blonde hair.

I loved this song when it first came out, but like a lot of Monica's material, it doesn't hold up well.

This is one of my favrorite songs from TBIM. I thought it was going to be a huge hit. Still not sure why it did so badly. It is such an awesome song

I refer to songs of this caliber as musical masterpieces. This is a creative high for Dallas Austin and Monica. It’s one of my favorite songs of all time.

The instrumental track was great... To be honest, I used to listen to the intro, but then I'd cut the song off once she started singing.

Love it. I like her voice with the dramatic strings and that beat. It just works. I listen to it now and it's not as good as it was then, but still a keeper.
