What did you think of this 2001 chart-topper, which peaked at #49 on CHR/Pop? :) It also peaked at #39 on Billboard's rhythmic airplay chart and #30 on Billboard's dance sales chart. I didn't care for it at first, in August 2000, but by February 2001, when it was serviced to mainstream radio, I loved it! Top 5 of 2001 on my chart. Ashley Ballard will be releasing an EP in a few months on Vital Records! Catch her on the runway at Beverly Hills fashion shows until then, singing and modeling!

How embarrassing! Poor Ashley deserved 48 places higher.

Very good song. The lyrics hit home. "But you were on the phone"! I can imagine a crappy singer like P!nk ruining this. This must've been a hit because I saw a maxi-single issued for it.

If the song wasn't great, then why was it: - Top 5 Phones at KXME (for 5 weeks!)
- Top 5 Phones at KBXS!
- Top 5 Phones at WKSS!
- and instant reaction at DOZENS MORE!
Uh huh, yeah, thought so.

It was even #1 in Hawaii! She got a more welcoming reception there than Mandy Moore did when she visited Hawaii! Boo ya.

If it was so embarassing, why did Ashley grow up singing for the president. Uh-huh, thought so!

This song was kinda stupid, and this is coming from someone who usually likes cheesy pop songs.

Shake it up, shake it up! It sure was! #30 on the Radio Disney Top 30 in August 2000!
Ashley had her own Radio Disney page too. :)

sheesh, only Geoguy and Mineable make it so this topic gets more reply.... especially for such a horrid, forgetable song.

No, computerfreak said he liked this song so I felt it was my duty to reply.
"Hottie" sold pretty well so I imagine loads of peeps love it. She performed it at the Hard Rock Cafe.

This sounds like a Christmas song.. Recently, I've seen her unreleased debut album "Get In The Booth" going for $25+ on eBay.
I should've been more grateful (and took better care) of the personalized burned copy she sent me. I remember saying it was a bad album on EFGforum and how she copied Toni Braxton on two songs. I guess it's a listenable album now.. I like "No Matter What" best.

This is almost as cheesy as the horribly cheesy song by Brooke Allison, "The Kiss Off (Goodbye)."

I think it's hilarious that this song peaked higher on rhythmic than on Pop. And I remember seeing her maxi single at Best Buy and wanting to buy it, but when they scanned it it cost $15 so I didn't.
It was okay. There were better cheesy pop songs around that time, and better songs on her album (which she sent me a free autographed promo of!)
