This is one of those über hits that almost everyone has heard. Even if you're reading this right now and you're like "no sorry I have NO IDEA what this is" I'd say 9 out of 10 of you would start singing the chorus if you heard it played right now, because you've heard it around.
It's a HOT HOT HOT song. Makes you wanna dance no matter what. Unlike "Ring My Bell" though, the lyrics are nice and not cheesy (and SOS Band were no 1-hit-wonders).
This song went double platinum and I think topped basically all of the charts in 1980.

Here's your Billboard stats.
Pop Singles: #3 Black Singles: #1 Club Play: #1
I like this song a lot. The whole "SOS" album is incredible and so is it's follow-up, "Too".
"No One's Gonna Love You" may be my favorite SOS Band song though.

That little guitar breakdown in the middle I believe has been sampled a number of times.

That little guitar breakdown in the middle I believe has been sampled a number of times. I don't know if it's actually been sampled but it's influenced many songs, including "The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow.

A great, feel good song, with a good message.
My favorite SOS song is "Tell Me You Still Care". I believe it went to number one on the R&B charts.
