Peaked at #9 Hot 100 & made #2 R&B.
Great song from her... should have made pop as well. :)

I prefer the Soul Power remix with Wanya Morris. I love every single from that album. If I ranked my favorite Brandy singles, all of the debut album singles would come first. "I Wanna Be Down" is my favorite though.

i thought this was her best single off her debut album and if i had to list only her single i think that everything from the first album would be on the bottom. but i am not saying they are bad. i like all of them but i think she has gotten much better with age.

"Brokenhearted" was a good song, but man, what a song "Baby" was. I loved that pulsating rhythm. "I Wanna Be Down" was also a very great song. Both were great examples of soul of the like you never hear today, sadly.

This is a song that I probably would never have heard had Rick Dees opted to stick to the R&R chart since it didn't make that chart, but did make the one Rick Dees used in late 1995, which was very much like the mixed CHR chart would have looked like had it not been discontinued as of the first of 1995.

I remember this duet. I really liked it. One of Bran's good ones from the early days.

I didn't like the original duet version, but the "Rollerskate Radio Mix" was hot

As I recall, this song stalled out at #41 on the R&R charts, but made the Rick Dees show, due to the chart that he used, which was Rhythmic leaning.

The remix was way better than the original. It's quite possibly my least favorite single from her debut album though.

I always thought the original blew the remix miles out of the water.

Love this song. Thought it was better than half of the other material on her debut album

The remix was way better than the original. I dislike the album version, the remix is amazing! Good job Soulshock and Karlin!

That song was ok but I love I Wanna Be Down, Baby and Best Friend over Brokenhearted any day. The first three singles were more Rhythmic.

I remember discovering this song back in 2008 when I got back into Brandy's Full Moon album and decided to check out her older material. The remix with Wanya Morris is fantastic.

I think I prefer the vocals and the darker production of the original. I love Wanya's voice, but they made the production too sugary on the remix.

I loved this! All of her "Brandy" singles were perfect, and it was great that they remixed this for the single release. It should have done better, but for a fourth single it did quite well...If I had to rank all of her singles, every single from the first album would be in the top 10 easily. I do think that her "Never say never" era was pure perfection, but this era was a close second.

The single version is nice, although I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites by her.
The album version is... interesting.
