I LOVE this song.
Deniece's version is my favorite. The first group to release this song was The Royalettes who took their version to #28 R&B and #41 Pop in 1965. Laura Nyro's version came out in 1972. Deniece Williams had the greatest success with it in 1982 when she took it to #1 R&B, #10 Pop, and #6 Adult Contemporary.
