I felt the need to make this topic since "Stacy's Mom" is so huge, and while this is only half as catchy, it's twice as good. It became their first hit at alternative, and is one of the coolest alternative pop-rock songs of the 90s. This was probably refreshing in the age of post-grunge.

It's an OK song. This was the first I heard from them and I didn't think much of it. Then I heard Sink To The Bottom which got stuck in my head for a long time. And then years later, Stacy's Mom comes along. I don't know much about Fountains of Wayne, but Radiation Vibe is the worst of the 3 songs I've heard from them, LOL.

I mean, I've never heard this, but you'd think with all the people that are absolutely nuts over "Stacy's Mom", that just a few of 'em might have been interested in this, y'know?

I haven't heard this song, but I've heard a few other songs by them on XM. One song, I'm not sure of the title, talked about mexican wine. It was decent. I also heard "Bright Future In Sales". I really liked that song.

Love it! All 3 Fountains of Wayne albums are classics. I don't know if I could ever pick a favorite song by them, but "Radiation Vibe" would be in my top 5, and definitely ahead of "Stacy's Mom". Conicidentally, the song about "mexican wine" is called "Mexican Wine". :) There's a video out for it, and it did go for adds on CHR but only made it up into the 60's or 70's on the pop chart. "Mexican Wine", "Bright Future In Sales", and "Stacy's Mom" are all excellent songs from FoW's latest CD, "Welcome Interstate Managers", which has fast become one of my favorite CDs ever.

I always loved this song, years before I became a FOW fan.

Cool, thanks for the tip on the video for Mexican Wine. I'll go in search of. Maybe Launch will have it. Really love their current album. Bought their self titled one a few weeks back but have given it only one listen. Gotta pull that out and give it a good listen while reading the lyrics. They are always so clever and true.

Listened several times to Radiation Vibe this weekend. Love the chorus, but the melody on the verses isn't as catchy, IMO. Good song, but only because I love the chorus so much. The lyrics are a bit odd. The monkey and ape and all. LOL!
