This was the lead single off her last album. I think I only saw the video once. It was a big flop along with her album but I really liked it and I'm surprised it didnt do better with JadaKiss on the remix.
Has she been dropped from J records? Did anyone pick her up ???
Does anyone know where this peaked?

It peaked at #58 R&B/Hip-Hop. Unfortunately it was still the biggest hit from the album at that format. Dance mixes of "Play Your Part" went #1 though.
I liked this song a lot. It went to #4 on my personal chart. "Play Your Part" was my favorite single from this album though.

I liked this song a lot. One of her only songs that I prefer in its original form to any of the remixes. The remixes for this were disappointing.

I didn't like this song that much and could see why it flopped. I liked a song I think that was called "Like I Did" alot more which was mid/uptempo. Howvever it sounded like something off of Brandy's 'Full Moon". I also loved "Play You Part" original and dance version.

This was good, but it was very underwhelming as the first single. After waiting a few years, i think her fans expected her to come with something better. They should have went with "Play your part" as the first single. It was clearly the stand out of the album. It may not have been a big hit on the level of "Nobody's supposed to be here", but it would have been bigger than this one, and certainly would have fared better than it did coming after this and "The Morning After".

I like this quite a bit, I agree though, probably not the best choice for lead single. A little too chill and subdued. The Godson remix was better than the Jadakiss remix IMO. And the Hex Hector & Mac Quayle remix was super fun too.

I love the song (you know I'm in a sexy mood...so why you tryna act a fool tonight...you need to change your attitude...cause I aint arguing with you, you're right) I just don't think it should've been single #1 as well. My choice would've been the Wildlife remix of "Mr. Lonely".

It' s a good track, but I much prefer the Jadakiss remix. It slays.
