I still haven't gotten it. But it's on my wishlist, above "Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number," since I think I would like this album more.

I loved this album. I also loved all the singles.
here's how I'd rank the singles
1. 4 Page Letter 2. One In A Million 3. The One I Gave My Heart To 4. Hot Like Fire 5. If Your Girl Only Knew (don't be fooled by its #5 placement.. I loved it then and still love it now).

Another R&B classic album, I think it should have done even better.
'If Your Girl Only Knew' was probably my favorite, and I loved the remix for 'Hot Like Fire'.

I loved 4 Page Letter. I don't think I have this album anymore, I sold it on eBay to buy a Furby. The only reason I got it was because of the BMG Music Club.

Furbies. I broke mine by dropping it to hear it do the weird jumbled noises. I guess I dropped it too hard that time. :'( I used to put my sister's beret on it and stick my finger in its mouth and call it the Monica Furby.

I much prefer her self-titled album over this. It's better than her debut though. My favorite is "If Your Girl Only Knew".

I loved this cd but my favorite has to be her self titled. "If Your Girl Only Knew" was an awesome song but overall I'd have to say "The One I Gave My Heart Too"is my favorite song from OIAM. At the time it jumped like 9 spots on my personal chart to number one which doesn't happen very often. It was her only #1 on my chart.

It's good to hear these comments. I had wanted to buy a greatest hits album by Aaliyah. It had all her hits except "If Your Girl Only Knew", but that's my favorite. Now upon hearing these favorable comments about this CD, I'll try to get both.

I've heard the whole album since I last replied, and I didn't really love anything except the singles.
lol @ that Monica post I made. I forgot that I had posted that!
BTW, My Furby was resurrected! I replaced its batteries a few months ago, and it works like new again! Phew!

This album feels sooo smooth and jazzy. I'm upset that it's not available on any platform. F**k!
"Beats 4 Da Streets" is one of my favorite intros in R&B music. The Missy & Timbo cuts are otherworldly and timeless, especially the title track. The other songs that I enjoy are "Giving You More", a quintessential mid 90s R&B song, "A Girl Like You" (with Treach), and "Never Giving Up".

So many memories. I remember finally recording IYGOK on tape after school and crying that I finally caught that bitch. Then I rode around the neighborhood on my bike jamming tf out of it.
"Heartbroken" should've been released.

I love the beat switch for the New School in "Choosey Lover"
Also, my favorite is the often overlooked early Darkchild production - "Everything's Gonna Be Alright"

This album turns 25 in August. I have my fingers crossed for a re-release but considering how her post Jive/Sony material has been handled up until now I don't have my hopes up.

Can't believe this album is turning 25. It'd be nice if it was release to streaming services.

My all time top 2 Aaliyah songs are The One I Gave My Heart To and 4 Page Letter. I also wish this would get on streaming. If it ever happens, that will surely be an event.

There are a few tracks that bring it down towards the end, but overall it's a very strong album that still holds up. Pretty much all of the singles are great.

For years I depended on YouTube to access this album, and admittedly I only focused on the Timbaland songs.
Now that it's on streaming I have found a new appreciation for the rest of the album, and it's really given it new life.
I think this is her best album - not a single bad track!

Looks like this will best its Billboard 200 peak with its re-entry. Originally peaked at #18 in 1997. Headed for a possible Top 10 re-entry. I tried looking for its Soundscan sales in September 2001 (back when catalog albums couldn't re-enter the Billboard 200) but couldn't find them. It probably would have bested its original peak in 2001 too.

Idk what was wrong with past me and why I thought this album was front-loaded.
Maybe my taste for good R&B wasn't fully developed yet...
