I've been keeping a running list (without their exact positions--except for peaks and charts that have been covered in ulij's flashback threads) of songs that have charted in a particular week from 1989 to 1999 (thanks to webarchive.org, I was able to get the old charter. simplenet.com site), and there is one week looking over the list that has thrown me for a complete loop.
Apparently on the 3/19/93 chart, I have 41 songs. Here were the songs on that previous week's chart in order of longetivity:
7 The Right Kind of Love A Whole New World Here We Go Again Ordinary World Mr. Wendal I'm Every Woman Bed of Roses Two Princes Little Bird* Forever In Love Don't Walk Away Tell the Truth* Get Away Angel Man on the Moon Stand That's What Love Can Do Cat's In The Cradle Love Is Sweet Thing Informer Comforter Bad Girl If I Ever Lose My Faith In You Beautiful Girl I Have Nothing I See Your Smile Nuthin' But a G Thang Love U More Freak Me Simple Life Rebirth of Slick Passionate Kisses* I'm Gonna Get You* I'm So Into You Somebody Love Me I Got a Man (D) Nothin' My Love Can't Fix (D) What You Won't Do For Love (D)
*-last week on the chart (D)-debut song
The next week (3/19), FIVE songs debuted as opposed to the four songs that dropped:
Candy Everybody Wants Looking Through Patient Eyes Come In Out of the Rain Love Don't Love You Crying Game
the next week, 3/26 four songs dropped (7, Get Away, Stand, and Rebirth of Slick), but three songs debuted (Hip Hop Hooray, Who Is It, and I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me), returning the chart to 40 songs.
WHERE AM I GOING WRONG?! Thanks.

Thanks ariens. I guess that "Stand" from Poison only spent seven weeks on the chart then, for according to the archive site, it debuted on 1/29/93.
