There's a clip of Outta My Head on that page. At last a real uptempo, and it's hot.

"Outta My Head" sounds way catchier than "I Got You." Second single, ftw!

I'm addicted to the Outta My Head clip, just amazing! Leona needs to work with Max Martin more often.
I'm so happy she has 8 co-written songs, Naked is a confirmed uptempo. I wonder if they'll be any more.

OMH and I Got U I can already tell will be album highlights. She should definitely work with Max more in the future.

OMH and I Got U I can already tell will be album highlights. She should definitely work with Max more in the future. It sounds like Echo is going to be more of an artistic record like Kelly Clarksons My December, Because she has cowritten most of the album. But these 2 tracks are the token "Hits" that are on there to satisfy the label, something that Kelly refused to do on MD. The Oasis track screams Simon Cowell, trying to retread "Runs" success. Its not going to work, it will have the opposite effect and I'm glad it didn't make the US track list.

I love the clips so much. Can't Breathe is probably my favourite right now, the slight R&B influence on that song really works for her. Overall the album sounds much more contemporary than Spirit which is great.
Love Letter is the only one I'm not feeling as it sounds like a generic pop song. Can't believe it made the US tracklisting over Naked.

I like the clips... I'm glad she's singing fun, upbeat songs in this album (Max Martin is great!).
In the previous album, they made the then poor 22 year old sing songs a 40 year old should be singing (The Last Time Ever I Saw Your Face). I'm glad she'll be singing songs aimed at a younger audience this time.

I'm loving the album based on the clips.. a lot more than Spirit.
To me, Mariah made a 90's R&B inspired album.. now seems like Leona made a 90's sounding Pop album.
I LOVE THAT. Anything that sounds 90's-esque has my heart. I was born in 1988, so at 21 years old, I grew up in the 90's.

I like the clips too. Some more than others for reasons I shall get into later on, but it sounds nice overall. Broken, Naked, Stop Crying Your Heart Out and Alive sound most interesting to me from these samples.
Going by 00's decade definitions this is Pop = popular = a blend of genre ranging from Pop to Rock to R&B and Dance. More of the sounds that were popular in the 80's and 90's. A sound that allows you to be more vocal and have artistic freedom. Mariah made a 00's definition R&B = R&B/Hip Hop = Hip Hop Pop = Hip Pop album. Something that the industry began selling for Pop in the late 90's. It's minimal in production: computerized backing beat/repetitive sample for music, vocally subtle = less, lyrically bubblegum with what they call Hip Hop sounds such as moaning and shouting through the songs on the forefront. Hey, it is what it is. :)
Mariah is an all time favorite artist of mine, but I think she kind of lost touch with her artistic self TBH. I believe mainly because the American industry has been selling this concept for R&B throughout the decade. Maybe when they change up she'll change with it again. Because this in the 00's by default promoted stuff is not exactly doing well against past numbers.
Meanwhile it's good to have new artists like Leona Lewis coming in taking over. IMO.

Well, they are pushing back Alicia Keyes album to Dec 15th, I wonder if the will do the same with Echo.
Although I think Alicia is a little more exposed than Leona, because its her home market.

i hope she is able to garner some attention in the US, because this album definitely seems more fun than spirit...which IMO was a major snoozefest, minus a few songs. agreed on it sounding like a 40-year old record.
isn't Mariah almost 40, ironically? (not that i'm hating, i heart MC)

This is the thing with Leona:
She has an amazing voice and is a beautiful girl. That combination alone, with the right songs aimed at the right audience, can truly be marketed amazingly. They still haven't taken full advantage of what they have with this girl.
Singing boring songs like Happy is not going to do it in the US. She needs well crafted pop songs if she wants to hit it big.
I purchased Happy and I was not impressed with it. After hearing the clips, I'm definitely purchasing the album. However, they should have started with an upbeat song to start the era. Happy is just not the right song for opening an era--at all.

Some of the clips are good…still don’t think she has been presented with really great material though. I mean “Bleeding Love” was amazing, “Happy” is very good….but after that, there isn’t anything that will really stand the test of time. I always get scared when all of the sudden, an artist who does very little writing on the first CD, all of a sudden gets lots of credits on the 2nd CD. I believe in the adage leave the writing to the people who do it best…focus on singing. Hate when artist with little writing talent feel they have to pen songs for legitimacy. Usually results in second rate material, instead of the real good stuff…which a voice like Leona’s should be singing. I doubt Clive Davis really had a hand in picking these songs…or Simon Cowell.
That being said, my favorites are “Can’t Breathe,” “My Hands,” “Love Letter,” and “Naked.”
