This album is seriously one of my favorites of last year.

Leona is waay too talented, but she's not an established artist in the US, and she doesn't have a strong loyal fanbase yet... and if we have in mind that the start of this era was totally screwed up, she needs all the help she can get right now... and Alicia is a good match for her for a person who caught the world by storm in 2008 and like having the number one song in america for radio airplay doesnt made her established artist, what does? ??? ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Because the song was the hit, not so much Leona. Plus it was only one song. There have been others from the UK that had one massive hit in the US and then couldn't get anything else after that. Look at James Blount, he had a massive hit with " You Are Beautiful" and then his next album bombed. She'd be lucky to open for Alicia Keys. Jordin Sparks opened for her, at the same time she had a hit with " No Air"....pre-Chris Brown meltdown. Leona really hasn't established a personality that would make people go out of the way to buy a concert ticket. It takes more than a good voice and a hit song to headline a tour.

Because the song was the hit, not so much Leona. Plus it was only one song. If the song was a hit and not Leona people wouldn't buy the album...but they did. Many artists have hit singles but don't sell the album that's when you can say the song is a hit not the artist. It wasn't just one song. Better in Time reached #11 just barely missing the top 10 and sold 1.5 million copies. but Leona did. As I mentioned above Better in Time just barely missed the Top 10. The only reason why Leona can't get any more hits is because she has an incompetent A&R team around her. It doesn't matter who released I Will be or Happy these songs would never connect with the masses. That's why she has a near sold out UK arena tour, right ? ;) It takes more than one or two hit singles to headline a tour. Leona simply doesn't have enough hits outside out UK to headline a tour.

I just don't get her single choices at all. Ever since Better In Time I have disagreed with every single one. Happy was the absolute worst road they could have taken and I think that has shown in album sales.

Even Better in Time was a very questionable follow up to Bleeding Love when Take A Bow was a smash waiting to happen....and not surprisingly a similar song, although with a much weaker melody was a hit for Rihanna. Careers of many artists were ruined over the years due to poor decisions by the people in charge....sadly Leona seems to be another example :'(.

Just because she can sell out in the UK does not mean that she can here. She is more of a presence over there. People buy albums for the music, they go to concerts for the music and for the personality/stage show whatever. If she could tour here in the US as a headliner, she would be. Yeah that. I've learned that the labels frequently make really bad decisions on which single to release. Personally I think they should let the Artist decide.

Take a Bow definitely deserved to be chosen. I mainly stated that Better In Time was an ok single choice because it was very successful here. If they had chosen a better third single she may have gotten three hits instead of two. Happy is just inexcusable in every way possible.

You are forgetting one little thing...not only was she on X-Factor, she won it. People got to know her threw the TV Show. She followed it up with a huge album. Not the case in the US.

Poor Happy, it just wasn't meant to be. The irony of that title.

I've always thought that Take a Bow was single worthy and I know a lot of people that owned the album and preferred it over Better in Time.

I do like I Will Be a lot, but I think TAB was the gem. Curses to RiRi for stealing the title first! (I love Rihanna though)

^ I don't get it either wth is her record company doing? I know Avatar is the hottest movie rn but this single isnt going anywhere and frankly is not that good compared to other movie ballads. Is she obligated to sing this song or something in her contract? Cause right now she needs to promote her current single, whatever it is, and I hope its either one in my signature. Gawd this era is such a mess and just when I was coming around to being a fan after listening to this album. They're doing her such a disservice.

My wife LL looked fine on Today Show, but her singing the song is so pointless. ISY is not available on iTunes and can only be purchased from the lame AVATAR soundtrack which is chugging 10k copies/week.
They should wrap this era up. Get her a$$ in the studio and come out with another CD for the week b4 Christmas. This time use REAL AMERICAN R&B producers like Timbaland, Danja, Darkchild, and Dr. Luke. They will get her some hits. Then put BLACK MALE MODELS in your videos to connect with her BLACK AUDIENCE.
THAT IS ALL.

I think that is the case, plus it was the Golden Globes Countdown show so it was relevant. Her vocals were great but even as a s.tan I just cant get into I See You.

And she needs to connect with an AUDIENCE. Leave race/skin colour/ethnicity out of it.

Been listening to "My Hands" a LOT lately. Never realized how epic of a song it was. This is seriously a really good album.

is her account verified? I 'm not so sure it's really her... It takes a long time for Twitter to verify accounts. Most celebrities accounts aren't verified but, they have their Twitter accounts linked to their official sites. Leona's Twitter account is listed on her official website. www.leonalewismusic.co.uk/gb/
