Silly did not have the adds date around now as by the downloads with no airplay it could been a smash with vid out in US.

I like this song! :) It was #117 on iTunes, but it's nowhere to be seen right now. A Christmas song probably pushed it off. >:(

I'm still amazed (and glad) that she went gold with her debut, I thought she would go unnoticed. REALLY? :o I didn't know it sold that much here! That's great! :) Hope she tours over here in 09. I'd love to see her. :)

I'm wishing it well. It's sure gonna need a lot of luck in its quest to establish Lily.

I don't think this will do well in the US. It's too brilliant and low brow.

I don't think this will do well in the US. It's too brilliant and low brow. Lily Allen's main obstacle right now is Katy Perry. Which is a shame, because Lily Allen released "Alright, Still" before Katy Perry essentially re-invented herself musically and bolstering her public profile by releasing "Ur So Gay". Allen released a quality pop debut, with writing that has far more depth and spunk than most of her fellow contemporaries. The problem was, it was just TOO good for mainstream radio. Too personal. TOO confrontational. Not quite, say, "Exile in Guyville", but still unlike much else released recently. Which gave Katy Perry a major opportunity to establish herself as a more safe, watered-down, radio-friendly version of Lily Allen, which she surely seized and has now heavily eclipsed Lily Allen's initial success worldwide. This puts Lily Allen into quite a predicament of sorts. When Lily Allen essentially remains unknown to most American listeners, as well as many listeners in other countries who may have heard "Smile" but nothing else, yet have heard "I Kissed A Girl" or "Hot 'N Cold" once every thirty minutes, beyond the United Kingdom it would feel as though Katy Perry is not merely an Americanized equivalent of Lily Allen..........but that Katy Perry found her voice before Lily Allen did. Add to that some tabloid woes Allen has been defending herself against as of late (even though most of it is by Allen's own candid admission on her blog) and that undermines her ability to try and be identified as a serious, honest artist, much like Amy Winehouse is struggling to, despite the fact both these artists have released stellar breakthrough records. * I hope Lily Allen can rise above this hurdle and produce a major hit with this, but it won't be easy I believe. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Hmmm...Exile In Guyville is to Jagged Little Pill as Alright, Still is to One of The Boys? Not quite, but I'm going with it anyway.
As I like to say, Katy Perry is the corporate Lily Allen. They team her up with only the finest hitmakers on pop radio today & dub her with cursory labels, suggesting she is "left-field", "rebellious", "confrontational" &, of course, "different." But she is, don't you see?! No other popstar is as mindlessly offensive as she is. Whether it be her album title or her first three singles ("Ur So Gay", "I Kissed A Girl" & "Hot 'N Cold"), she carelessly trucks along societal biases & discriminations.

Whether it be her album title or her first three singles ("Ur So Gay", "I Kissed A Girl" & "Hot 'N Cold"), she carelessly trucks along societal biases & discriminations. And that's where Lily Allen is at a major disadvantage here. Although the superficiality in "One Of The Boys" is easily apparent upon multiple listens.........she nonetheless has, in some ways, co-claimed the "rebel" title in popular music's current landscape (although Pink has been around much longer than either of them and is still enjoying great success for being true to herself and writing quality songs, thus she's still the one to beat) Thus, only those who already know Lily Allen will know she's the real deal, but otherwise she risks being depicted as a cookie-cutter of sorts to the majority of other listeners, or someone living in Katy Perry's shadow and trying to take advantage of her success, which obviously isn't true. I think it's a frustrating time to be Lily Allen as an artist, but I certainly am cheering her on and hope she finds a way around this dilemma. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I have a feeling Z100 is gonna add this within the next month. She is performing at a show they are gonna have. Hopefully, they'll add "The Fear".

This is by far my favorite song of 09 thus far. I'm not sure if I like it more than Smile or Everything's Just Wonderful, but it's my jam at the moment. Too bad it'll flop underperform in the US but hopefully it'll sell the album in the rest of the world.

I wish Lily's success in the UK could be mirrored over here. :(
With Amy, Leona, M.I.A., Duffy, (And Adele, moderately) doing well here, it doesn't seem right that Lily isn't.
