Every song on this album to me, is a 4 or 5 star song. That hasn't happened to me in a while! I completely agree, except for If No One Will Listen. It's the worst track ever from Kelly, imho. I don't particularly like the song but I absolutely LOVE how she sings it so I gave it 4 stars. Is that cheating? lol

I'm really ok with criticizing this album. I mean, I loved it, and even if I'm a fan I can respect others opinions, what bothers me is going in the poll booth and see it being criticized, come here and see it all again, go in all Kelly's threads and see that. It's like the person needs to say the album sucks, not only that, they need for everyone to see it, otherwise there'd be no point right?

I'll say right now I think Cry is the best song on the album and Kelly's best ballad so far. This coming from someone whose favorites are never the ballads. Tomorrow I'll probably say the best song is Already Gone.

My favorite track is Save You, by far. Then is Ready and I Want You :)

Both B.Monroe and luver are really just getting annoying. [ luver) need to let people express their dislike for this album. It sucks having your favorite artist's album criticized, but it's protocol. No, what you're really saying is to let people express dislike for the album ad infinitum without challenging any of the reasons behind it when those reasons amount to more than a personal preference. I haven't asked anyone who doesn't like the album not to express their opinions as you are now doing. If people shouldn't respond to posts they disagree with then learn to follow your own advice - let people make posts that you don't enjoy without galloping by on your own little pony and telling people what they should or should not post.

I love Ready and whyyawannabringmedown those are the songs for the day for me. I love the chorus in Ready too.
This album Kelly really shows how good of a singer she really is.

A deadhorse icon is just another beating of the same deadhorse, lol.
Anyway, someone a while back mentioned the Beach Boys intro on Ready. That's what I heard from the beginning. I never would have imagined they would add something like that to Ready after hearing the demo, but somehow it works.

My faves from the album are whyyawannabringmedown, I don't hook up, If I can't have you, already gone, and all i ever wanted. I love all the songs except If No One Will Listen. The beats are amazing on the album...very bumpin and catchy.

Does anyone else think Kelly sounds like Natasha Bedingfield on the bridge in Ready?

She sounds kinda like Joss Stone in the very beginning of "If No One Will Listen"

Does anyone else think Kelly sounds like Natasha Bedingfield on the bridge in Ready? Actually kinda yes! LOL. I think in the beginning of Ready she sounds a little like Adele.

Inquiring about it only brings up petty comparisons and arguments (I can cite half this thread as evidence proving that).

I don't think this was posted yet - Kelly was on OHP last night and was interviewed. The interviewer is obnoxious, so bear with it.

Inquiring about it only brings up petty comparisons and arguments (I can cite half this thread as evidence proving that). Read what you just quoted again because you are the one not getting it. I bolded the relevant part for you. I don't debate personal preferences because that is completely subjective and I do not care if someone hates the album. I only challenge ideas put forth such as Kelly not dong what she wanted on this album. For someone who wants to tell me to let posts go by without comment because it's so damn annoying to you, you sure don't follow your own advice. B Monroe and I had a civil discussion. If people are so sensitive that they can't read a discussion that tame without getting annoyed then let's all stick to "It's Great!" "It's Sucks!" and "My favorite song is..." So to make you and any member of the deadhorse icon brigade happy: My favorite song is Cry. Woo! I'm sure someone out there hates it. Boo! Somehow I will go on with this debilitating knowledge. I also like IICHY. I give it an 8.75 out of 10. No wait, I think I'll give it an 8.85. Maybe an 8.86. Yes, definitely an 8.86.

Wow, ya'll are having some serious discussions here. I'm just here to enjoy the music. "If No One Will Listen" is so cheesy, but I still love it for Kelly's vocals. And I'm totally in love with the bridge on "Ready".

[quote author=strikeleo board=artistkz thread=80633 post=2038752 time=1235337785! I completely agree, except for If No One Will Listen. I love that one too, plus I love Cry and Already Gone. They are up there with Sober for me. I'm just fascinated by Kelly's voice on If No One Will Listen. She's never sung a whole song in her head voice before. I think she sounds simply angelic. The pop/rock, funk, punk, and old school songs are all excellent, imo. Plus, I think Kelly's voice is unbelievable on this album. Her phrasing is so awesome, especially on "Already Gone", so cool and different.
p.s. Pulse is acting weird for me and won't let me quote without putting my post in with the quote. ???
