No problem!
I still prefer the other way too, this site delay so much to pass the songs on display... but nobody has the codes for mediabase!

I tried this new one. Some of the stations I tried work, but the ones I really want do not. Those particular stations did work in the past so I don't know. It will recognize the stations I enter in, but it will just remain blank and the cursor would spin as if it is still loading.

It will recognize the stations I enter in, but it will just remain blank and the cursor would spin as if it is still loading. Yeah...on some days, it's working fine. On others, it's always giving me a hard time. I really hate this new station playlist that's running on some sort of macromedia Flash software. When it finally appears after searching a station, it keeps reversing the direction of the playlist and in between hours, it disappears and skips a few songs. I have to reset it a few times until it stops doing that. And then I keep getting some annoying message that my Flash reader is having a hard time due to a script running on the site. So it basically stops me from viewing the playlist of a certain station not only on one day but for the entire week... The old site was so much better and a lot quicker. I would be able to access full daily playlists of so many stations over the same amount of time it would take for me to try and load a playlist for one station that only shows part of an hour of songs being played.

How can you look for a specific station...is there a master list of links? Get this...the good news is I finally figured out how these numerical combinations work! It took me a while but it's pretty much straightforward. But there's bad news to add to this. Mediabase seems to have gotten rid of the archive, so all you get is the playlists from each station for yesterday and today. But for some reason, today's playlist appears as "No Data Found For this station". To see the playlist, you have to type in the month and date numerically at the end of the URL. So here's how it works: www.mediabase.com/whatsong/WhatSong.asp?var_s=087072084090045070077&MONDTE=8%2F7%2F2009 Take the 21-digit numerical combination and divide it into seven three-digit numbers. Each of the three-digit numbers represent a certain character (letter, number, symbol, etc.) So in this case, you have: 087 072 084 090 045 070 077 Following the same sequence, each of the three-digit numbers spells out the following: W H T Z - F M That gives you the playlist for WHTZ-FM (Z100) New York for August 7, 2009 (today). If you know the name of the station through its call letters, here's stuff worth knowing: For each station, notice that at the end of each combination, you have the same three numbers: 045 070 077 045 represents "-" (dash) in between the station call letters and the frequency 070 represents "F" and 077 represents "M" Last but not least, 065 thru 090 represent the letters A thru Z respectively, in order. For Canadian stations, the numerical code starts with 067 = C For American stations, the numerical code starts with 087 = W So at the very least, you can browse the full daily playlist on one page once again. Frankly, this is better than what is currently on the Mediabase Music website - I always have a hard time controlling the pace at which the songs appear and there are days where it will stall and I'm not able to view anything. The bad news is that the logs only show the last 24 to 48 hours, and they don't go further back. The flash playlist on Mediabase Music goes back at least one week, but that's it. Anyways, I hope this helps.

What if you want a satellite station's playlist? X020 or S001 have the last three characters as numbers rather than letters.

The codes are apparently the old ASCII character codes used in computer programming. You can see the entire list of codes at: www.asciitable.com/0 is 048, 1 is 049, ... and 9 is 057

Some stations really didn't have a page of "What Was That Song?" on mediabase? I can't get some pages mainly for the smallest ones. I thought all the stations were affiliates

About a decade later since I took computer classes, and that was the last time I remembered anything about ASCII character codes. And with all these years that I've been spending in front of the computer, I never thought they would become useful again and I completely forgot about all that. Nonetheless, thank you very much HotACGuru for the table. :)

Hm.. I've used the code about 10 times, and for some reason, it's not working on satellite stations still yet.

This is not working again ugh Ive just found out another good site to see it www.tunegenie.com/Just some stations! It's back up, but it's been sporatic. The one station in Chicago I monitor on their website that uses this, Fresh 105.9, had it back up and running yesterday after about four days down, but it's missing some data from very early this morning. Hopefully they get the kinks out because it seems like that site goes down quite a lot, the last time being about two months ago. Agreed that tunegenie.com is a good site, but only a few stations use this, and it's not as user friendly as the Mediabase site is. Also try Yes.com, though their song times have been one hour off on a few stations lately!
