Because of You, Walk Away, and Never Again were her only singles to be released at the same time worldwide. All of the others had as much as 6 months in between the US/International releases. That explains the low worldwide chart peaks.

There was an even better segment about Kelly on E News tonight with some behind the scenes footage of the MLWSWY video shoot and the MLWSWY single cover photoshoot. There's video at KCEMedia.

"Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes" were good, but they never totally turned the corner with me. (They each narrowly missed the top 20 on my personal chart.) I've been waiting since then for a Kelly song that I could fully get behind, and I think this just might be the one. :) The video's really good too, IMO. I didn't think it was boring; my thoughts were it illustrated the song's theme and was filmed quite well. She has made 13 videos, hardly a handful. Out of 13 videos she has two with a similar theme. Wow. A ton of artists have more than two videos with similarities in their catalog. Just take a deep breath and go polish your Kelly shrine... I think the difference between this and "SUBG", correct me if I'm wrong, is that she's being playful in "My Life" versus pissed off and vengeful in "SUBG". I don't think that's too hard to understand. I still like this song and am happy it's doing so well, but what's up with the ugly symbol in the thread title? Because it's the #1 song in the country, I thought it would be a nice little addition to the title. What's the big deal with the thread title anyways? lol That's actually a really good idea, if it were standardized (the Wingdings font can go 1-10). The question, though, would be whether to use CHR/Pop or the Hot 100...

This is so thrilling for Kelly. To be honest, I was bit worried Radio would not play her. they certainly didn't with "Sober"- which was incredibly strange considering Breakaway had so many hits and radio loved her- then all of a sudden, they turned against her. They might have done so again with this one but I'm thankful it looks they are back loving her. Whew! That's a load off my mind. I was worried she might end up sharing the same fate as Janet Jackson- radio not playing her has pretty much tanked her career.

well now we cant really compare kelly's career to p!nk's.
Kelly released her "U+Ur Hand" ('suck') right away as first single, radio ready and hit guaranteed. P!nk went with Stupid Girl and the gimmicky video, and it certainly wasnt the song radio wanted, she was still saying that UUH would not be a single, and went with Who Knew and that went nowhere. I remember talking to dr luke on the phone about this issue, he said he tried to convince the label to do UUH/Who Knew as 1st and 2nd, but they didnt want it, and p!nk refused to release UUH, she didnt even sing it that maany during her promo set (only once). but UUH was such a smash, climbing slowly but surely and put her back on the map on US pop radio (so i'm a bit confused when her fans sayin' that p!nk is the queen of pop radio, because it wasnt long ago when she was struggling to get a hit and quoted saying "i love europe, they actually play your song on the radio" when asked about the hip/hop/rap heavy US music climate)
Kelly , more like RCA made the right call with releasing the safe single and it's working great, radio is once again welcoming her. I was very worried about this, i remember talking to director last year and we talked about how important this first single is.
Im also so happy to see all these press. she's everywhere with the record breaking single!

U have a problem with that? Umm lol, I just thought it was a little random that you said "now we can't really compare Kelly's career to Pink's" when there was no one discussing Pink or comparing Kelly's career to Pink's in the first place.

Well Kelly's and Pink's carreers are quite similar lol. Both their debuts were music they didn't "want" to do, both of their 2nd albums were the biggest of their carreers (so far), both their third albums underperformed and looks like both their 4th albums will return them to the top

Where did this discussion come from in the first place? That's what I'm still trying to figure out, not that it's a big deal. lol

Shoot! I guess we'll have to wait a bit before we get a televised performance! I bet she'll sing this on Idol at some point.

Yes, the inevitable slow down is happening as this song moves into the top 15 and starts going head-to-head with other songs getting a lot of spins. MLWS may make it to #15 as soon as tomorrow. It's only 121 spins away this morning. But it will take some time for it to get to #11. This morning it's 454 spins away from that spot, and 879 spins out of #10. Of course, the rate of rise for any song is a combination of increasing spins for it combined with decreasing spins for songs ahead of it that have already peaked. Makes it very tough to accurately predict how soon MLWS might get to #10. I'm going to guess maybe around Feb. 6 or 7.

I bet that she'll be top 10 within a month, at least. That's a very secure bet, I think. I'd say closer to 1.5-2 weeks, tbh.

yup she's been saying about the bahamas is gonna be her first MLWSWY live performance, so i guess she wont sing it at clive, she'll probably do a duet with someone to do a cover.
