Well thats what happens when you pick a gay single.
I love Gwen but I hate some of her single choices. This and Rich Girl drive me up the wall.

Lock the door thread.
At this point, I think the idea of a 5th single is just unnecessary. Her success ratio for this album is 1.5 (counting WIU as "half" a hit) out of 4. Not worth pursuing this era any longer.
If she can put "Early Winter" on a soundtrack or something, then maybe an official release is justified. Not just for the sake of the triumphant 5th single, though. This era ends with a whimper, not a bang.

This song is just awesome and would have been HUGE if she released it after TSE

It started out with a crappy 'bang' as well, aka...Wind it Up. It still made waves but in a negative sense.
Sadly, I actually like the CD a bit more then LAMB now, the ballads on this album make it. Singles sorta sucked and everyone lost interest in her as a solo artist.
I think alot less people respect her now as an interesting pop artist.

I think this would have been a hit if the momentum was built well. All the hype was killed when '4ITM' was released (still love the song though!). Can't believe this bombed so hard, even 'Luxurious' managed Top 20!

Yeah, if you read gossip blogs where people are openly b***hy about celebrities (note: not saying this is the best indicator, but it does represent an overall public attitude adjustment), Gwen takes a good amount of heat now. She used to be one of the few celebs people left alone. Now a lot of people think she is overexposed, over-the-hill, and annoying. If she had just stopped at one solo album & gone back to ND, that could have been avoided, I think. She didn't really gain anything with this era, except one big hit (that could have been saved for a ND song) and the international fans got to see her for the first time in 5 years on the road. Other than that, it's been very "meh". In fact, that this era has even lasted 10 months is somewhat miraculous. Although, Pulse activity aside, the general public forgot about this era by late spring/summer, heh.
Anyway, on to ND, then.
P.S. I agree about the ballads - it's a shame they weren't on LAMB because had they replaced 3 of its weaker tracks, it would have been a damn near perfect pop album.

I agree about the ballads - it's a shame they weren't on LAMB because had they replaced 3 of its weaker tracks, it would have been a damn near perfect pop album. I actually think Gwen got a lot more heat on gossip sites like ONTD and stuff during the LAMB era because the whole Harajuku Girl thing was new, plus she was so over-exposed because of the Hollaback Girl phenomenom. Lately all the coverage on her on gossip sites has been oozingly positive WHAT A GREAT MOTHER...BRIT YOU SHOULD LEARN FROM GWEN...stuff. A few months back ONTD had a love/hate type poll for a long list of hundreds of celebs and gwen got about a 70/30 love/hate ratio which is extremely positive for that site. And theoretically yeah TSE could have worked as a No Doubt song...but its very doubtful that they would have worked with Akon this go around, and that that song would have ever been created...and it ended up being Gwen's second biggest international hit ever, only surpassed by Don't Speak (EXACTLY 10 years earlier). I also think that this era gave Gwen the chance to put on a truly GWEN tour that has been basically universally critically acclaimed, and will end up being one of the biggest tours of the year...something she could not do with LAMB because of the pregnancy.

I love the ballads on this album, too. Not many of the faster tracks, a lot of them sounded like filler. LOVE L.A.M.B. though!!

Eh...TSE>LAMB for me. I understand why the world seems to prefer LAMB, its more original, unique, fresher, sharper, complete sounding...but TSE is more Gwen to me, and as a huge Gwen fan, i prefer that than a perfectly produced hyper slick album like LAMB.

Yeah the single choices were bad they ashould have just switched around 4ITM and NTYGI because the seasons would fit better (NTYGI (Summer Hit)) (4ITM (Fall HIT)), and also NTYGI would be such more a a hit because it would get attention from right after SE.
IT should have gone like this
1.Yummy would have been an instant hit to start the album (Possibly #1 hit)
2.TSE would have done the same as it did
3.NTYGI (Would have had attention from TSE and would have atleast gotten into top 50 airplay, which would have taken it straight to top 10 on billboard, possibly #1 hit)
4. 4ITM (Awesome fall hit, would have probably done better in this season, and would have had attention from NTYGI
5. Early Winter (perfect for fall winter transition WOULD HAVE BEEN A HIT AND STILL WILL BE) possible #1 hit
6. WL or WIU to end the album and possibly get it another top 10 hit
