I think the Rascal Flatts performance tonight showed us why that have been getting snubbed in EOTY. After so many bad live performances on these awards shows, voters can't bring themselves to nominate RF as good live performers.
Who won Video of the Year?

Ok, well I won't watch another country awards show Country Award shows don't need you, thankfully. Come on now, that wasn't necessary. If you're happy, be happy and forget being petty. Congratulations to Carrie. Now please, CMAs: Brad for Entertainer of the Year. ETA: jenglisbe, Brad Paisley won Video of the Year for "Waitin' on a Woman." That win was announced a few days ago.

Kenny was so gracious. He really seemed to offer words of encouragement, and I love how after the speech he seemed to speak to Carrie's mom. Classy.

I'm just thankful we didn't get yet another Kenny win, so I guess I actually owe the Carrie fanatics a debt of gratitude.
That being said, they need to end the fan-voting for EOTY pronto.

What I hate about the internet voting is that Carrie is near (if not already at) a point where she would win it on her own merits. In fact, she could have very well won it tonight without internet voting.
Congrats anyway.

I don't know why they changed it to internet voting -- I mean, not going to lie, I LOVED the result, but the fan voting thing (I think) needs to stick to the CMT awards.

Oh, and let me say I respected how Taylor was singing along to "Last Name" when Carrie won FVOTY. That was nice.
And while I think Taylor's a terrible singer, I can't argue with her Album win. Her album has had more impact than any other country album, and the ACMs are supposed to take commercial success into account.

Congrats to Carrie. Much deserved. Good to see her join the small Female EOTY circle of legendary ladies.
Favorite performances for me were Miranda Lambert (lovin' this new song), Reba (ditto on the new song), Keith Urban, Sugarland, and Trace Adkins.

Don't get me wrong, as a Carrie fan, I am really ecstatic she won and really wasn't expecting it. I do wish they would be specific as to how much fan voting counted though for the award. Is fan voting the only factor or do the industry votes have any kind of weight? Rascal Flatts, who I think clearly has a bigger teenage fanbase than Kenny Chesney and therefore, can vote over and over, didn't beat Kenny Chesney last year. That's when we heard that the industry votes did have some say for the Entertainer category. Hopefully, they did this year as well. In any case, a huge congratulations to Carrie for the Entertainer win!! :)

Carrie's Grammy BNA win still takes the cake as the most exciting award for me to watch as a fan.

did george strait looked pissed when carrie won or am i imagining things? I don't think we should be judging someone's opinion just based on how he/she looked. George Strait had the same look when Jamey Johnson won Song of the Year (and Jamey Johnson is someone who is more traditional like George). George's face always has that look, even when he wins. (Sorry, I think I broke the 20 minute rule).

Unless there is someone waiting in the wings with an unbelievable voice, I don't see Female vocalist going to anyone but Carrie for a while.
I do believe that Carrie would have one day won EOTY without internet voting, it should not have happened this year. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do away with internet voting on such important awards. If they wanted to do video or collaboration, that would be fine but not for THE MAIN AWARD of the Academy.
I have put down the Flatts for the live sound many times before and I am torn on this one. Dropping the song a 1/2 note is a big negative in my eyes but the only note that was just bad was the falsetto "in my arms tonight". I have listened to the new album and it's more of the same. I am just torn. I am really trying to hang in there.

did george strait looked pissed when carrie won or am i imagining things? George Strait was pretty expressionless (which I suppose could be interpreted as pissed) when Jamey Johnson won, too. I don't think he was angry or bitter in either case. I just think he tends to be pretty expressionless, win or lose (OK, maybe he'll pull out a leetle smile if he wins). Waves to somebody60 from the same wavelength. And there's no 20-minute rule anymore.sbp17, I'll join that chorus agreeing with you. Maybe the ACM membership felt that the fan voting component gave them 'permission' to vote for Carrie, because the way the voting across categories went, it was a very good night for pop country, for better or worse. The wins for Carrie, Sugarland, Brad and Taylor suggest to me that this is where the ACM membership sees the future of country music. Brad and hopefully Carrie will do something to preserve the history of country music while staying contemporary and acts like Sugarland and Taylor (and Keith) will continue pushing the boundaries into pop and pop-rock (and in Sugarland's case, soul). Or maybe I'm reading too much into one awards show.

Congratulations to Carrie Underwood! I literally cried for her! Such an amazing tonight! Almost all the awards went to the right people! Only if Jamey Johnson didn't win, that would have been great. And if Lady Antebellum beat RF. but they will eventually.

Still can only find Carrie, Taylor and Miley ACM moments on youtube. Can't one of you young'uns quickly upload Reba's three minute performance? Oh well, I'll get to see it tonight.
