Hosh Gurelli's latest facebook update reads: " Hosh is about to unleash Deborah Cox's biggest Hit remixes "Beautiful U R" since the old days" I figured it was time for a proper thread for this! the "old days" makes me hold my breath and wish hex was remixing this! it could pull him out of his funk! i guess all we know so far for sure is soulseekerz(ew) and yinon yahel(interesting) someone somewhere had mentioned a remix EP...no confirmation on that. i don't really see the point at this point since her last release had all the mixes of "everybody dance" with tony's "house is not a home" dub and then she already had that remixed cd. actually there's quite a few things Deborah Cox could throw out on a remix EP that I'd happily pay big bucks for: Couldnβt We (Junior Vasquez Mix) Play Your Part (Jonathan Peters Mix) Mr. Lonely (Hex/Mac Instrumental) Up And Down (Wayne G Heaven Mix) Starting With You (Mac Quayle Mix, Jr Vasquez Mix, Joe Bermudez Mix) Oh, and yes I can confirm that unfortunately Hex is not a remixer on this single....

I was hoping that the Yinon Yahel mixes would be much darker and more anthemic. I like the strings, pads and vocal effects. It's just okay for me. I sort of like the Gabi Newman one, but some of the chords sound a little off-key in some places. Same with the Massimo Nocito one. I like the Soulseekerz one. It's the only one that I found to be melodic and appropriate. The Ultimix based on the album version is a nice addition to the package. Hopefully I'll like something from part 2. Pack 2 should be out within the next week or two hopefully. Do you know which other remixers have worked on this song? Just wondering.

yep i agree. yinon's is the only one that has a hard edge. god i wish tony or offer was on top of this one :( It's true Tony Moran would probobly have done a hot mix for this one, but I heard he probobly won't be mixing it. As for Offer, Yinon=Offer and vice versa. Yinon was Offer's producer on all his original works and remixes up to the single 'Love Me'. Not sure what he's doing with him reecntly if anything, as it's still foggy if he was the producer on "Hook Up" (personally I think it does sound like his quality). Of this pack up Deborah mixes it's true Yinon's is the strongest, however is not his best work. I too can't wait to see what comes in Pack 2!

i find it really depressing that one the top dance singers we have cannot afford to have top remixers With not one but two remix instrumentals for Beautiful U R, I think it's obvious the label is indirectly encouraging fan-made remixes to create additional buzz on this record. I just bought all the mixes from Masterbeat, and they're all pretty solid after skimming thru them. The Gabi Newman music doesn't seem to fit the melody, but the riff reminds of some other well-known remix, I just can't put my finger on it. Yinon's mix, at first glance, sounds just like any other circuit type mix from the last few years by TM, Ralphi, Offer Nissim, Scotty K, etc, etc. I actually dig it though, the builds are pretty cool and the breakdown w/ the piano & strings is freaking BEAUTIFUL.

I can definitely say now that I like Yinon the best. I absolutely love DC, but I am totally blah about this CD. This particular song is one of the few I thought could even sound good remixed and that's not saying much. The song just doesn't say much or go anywhere.
So, for this to be a good remix to me, it's going to have to be the music that takes it to a different level and I think there are some really nice nuances in Yinon's mix. A lot of which you can't tell from the preview... but they sure come through in the 320kbps version... as well as Deb's fantastic and familiar voice I love.
Soul seekerz is second to me, just because it seems a little too electro-happy at times with the electro-zips and such scattered through it and the music (chords and such) are a little off a times to me.
Minus the ultimix, the other two seemed just seemed phoned in. Bleh.

Yeah, Yinon's the best. It's nice and dark. The breakdown is gorgeous.

i hope people will do some mashups of this-they'd couldn't make it worse for sure! I'm going to try doing something with this song after my exams end later today. I had tried to do a semi-mashup with the partial filtered pella I created from the original. It had just the pads and some bass left over. I couldn't get the keys right. I wanted it go with Loreta's "The Trouble With Boys" as remixed by Junior. It has the "Living It Up" riff in it too. I gave up on it.

Previews for each mix sound decent - the Yinon sounds like I would enjoy it the most.
Does Masterbeat keep the exclusive for a long time or just for the first week?

I worked on my mix last night. It's more of a reconstruction of Yinon's mix. The acapella filtered really easily. As others had mentioned, the beatless parts with the strings and pads are just gorgeous. So my reconstruction emphasizes those parts for the verses and bridge. I'm trying to find the perfect beats to 'fill in' the beat on Yinon's mix because his just don't feel hard enough. wow perfectbeat already has a limited pressing of the mixes for sale! i didn't expect it so soon! It's good that they have it at the same time as the digital release. Same tracklisting as the digital single: 01. Yinon Yahel Radio (4:15) 02. Yinon Club Mix (7:12) 03. Yinon Club Instrumental (7:09) 04. Gabi Newman Radio (4:04) 05. Gabi Newman Club Remix (6:02) 06. Gabi Newman Club Instrumental (6:03) 07. Massimo Nocito Radio (3:36) 08. Massimo Nocito Club Mix (5:58) 09. Soul Seekerz Radio (3:29) 10. Soul Seekerz Club Mix (6:33) 11. Soul Seekerz Dub (6:28) 12. Mark Roberts Ultimix (5:20)

Glad someone agrees. :) When I did my reconstruction, I tried about 20 different beats. The ones from Yinon's "Shine" and Offer/Maya's "Alone" fit quite well.

This is a rather b***hy post made by someone named "Robert" on Rico's board: 'Robert' is actually Hosh Gureli. The Hosh Gureli. He just provided some info about the Kelly remixes too.

This is a rather b***hy post made by someone named "Robert" on Rico's board: To Whom It May Concern: Deborah has always made sure that the circuit market is covered and Yinon's mix is amazing - 5 dJs had the rough since New Year's Eve and I want to thank them because incredibly the mix did not leak. All reports are that Yinon's mix is an anthem that more than packs the floor and has a Beautiful vibe that stands out among other records. RE: the other mixes. The world is much larger than the US and the circuit scene - those in the know and including Myself realize that circuit music has loyal core crowd, but IT IS DATED and the rest of the world has moved on. It used to be back in the day that the gay scene trail blazed music. So not the case now - stuck in one groove. Hence the use of Hot and coming European talents. Deborah has broken big in the US, Brazil and Australia. She has never concurred Europe & the U.K. Kylie Minogue Style. With these mixes she will hopefully make a dent. I think you will be surprise if you play Gabis mix - a refreshing change. Massimo Nocito mix - what a surprise, a mix for the straight up (and I mean that literally) Club kids for today. Also - Deborah has done a vocal on a major collaboration Track of Axwell, Angello, Ingrasso and Laidback Luke dropping at WMC. Title: "Leave The World Behind" The world is moving and so is Deborah - she will always cater to her circuit crowd and they will always be her favorite, but she will not get trapped in a one genre of dance - I would think that people that read this would agree. I hate to appear like a traitor, because I have lived for circuit music for years, but I have found myself realizing the same thing. Circuit parties and clubs and all that is entailed in that just seems to be dead (at least to me, especially living in Atlanta)...I mean, I love the music, but there are many new, progressive sounds that I have caught myself fancying. Call me a traitor, I just don't see the point in holding on to a genre of music or scene just because one has had so many fun experiences and made many memories within that branch of club music....music is evolving, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The Massimo Nocito Mix is amazing ... it's pure perfection.
Those of you bitching should feel lucky that Deborah and her label gave you a circuity mix ... 4Real, be greatful for something once and realize that the world does not revolve around you and your circuit party sound.

You have no right to say something is dead when you aren't going out to see for yourself. that goes for a lot of you on here too. I almost never hear anyone on this board say that they ever go out and hear any of the big djs or go to any circuit parties so you have no idea what you are talking about. Quasi is pretty much the only other circuit boy on here(xernomis has gone out with me in Dallas to an event and is also going to Disney.) I will be at Winter Party in two weeks working at JustCircuit and Johnny Chisholm's 5 ring circuit event and also hearing a lot of djs like Abel, Tony, Tracy and possibly Offer/Peter(Star69 throwing a rogue event opposite Tony's official Winter Party Event so IDK.) The circuit is not ever going to die and if it's the last stronghold of REAL gay dance music then that's fine everyone can go have fun shaking their skinny gay nonexistent butts at their local club to hip hop, i don't care if i'm the very last one on the dancefloor. i find it so odd Hosh billed this as her best set of remixes since the "gool old days." Yinon Yahel's mix hardly "covered" the circuit crowd-it's a pretty mix, yes, but far from peak hour ANTHEM. if they want the euro market, they should have got freemasons(who i'm sure would love to work with her since the used "its over now" for "Watchin") or moto blanco. A two remix package with one of the big US circuit djs and one of the big euro remixers, everyone would have been happy. It's like they went for quantity over quality I can't help but think the ugly truth is they just didn't have money for any top remixers-"Robert" said Kelly Clarkson didn't have the budget for Jason Nevins and she's signed to a big label and has the #1 song in the country.... Perhaps I went a tad bit overboard. The circuit scene is dead in ATLANTA....no one ever has any kinds of parties that truly resemble circuit parties anymore. There are afterhours parties and things of the like at really cruisy gross campy bars, and the past few times I attended those, I was surrounded by very cracked out gross queens. I know that circuit PARTIES such as those held in Miami, LA, NYC, are still popping and frequented by people who have real jobs and enjoy a good party (and when it's done in moderation, you have every right to have fun!), but I don't think that the "circuit" still remains here in Atlanta.....especially not as an every-day/every weekend activity.

Well, I really don't want to take this thread further off topic, but being very impartial here, I do have to agree with a lot of what has been said in this thread. Do I think any of these mixes "cover" the circuit crowd? Or would even it cause any of my circle of friends to feel the need to hit the dancefloor? In Deb's own words, absolutely not. Granted, I am really digging Yinon's mix -- don't get me wrong -- but there is no way it would have a huge circuit (or big dance club floor IMHO) full and hitting. But that's perfectly okay... it's still a pretty mix and I shall play it for myself many times. As far as circuit music being dead... I don't think that will ever happen, but it will evolve and already has evolved. I, personally, don't like putting dance music into sub-genres anyway. I have been to big circuit parties and other parties where the DJ played songs that you or I may know to be totally out of the "subgenre" he or she is playing for, yet filled the dancefloor and made the crowd go wild. I absolutely love our American talent and you know what... I absolutely love what Europe and Brazil come out with. Isn't there room for diversity and variety or do all dance mixes have to follow the same set of (sometimes tired) guidelines? And as far as circuit parties being dead... eh... not quite. Whenever I do hear someone say that, it always seems to be from someone that has either gotten older (and let themselves go to the point they don't care anymore) or someone that can't go for whatever reason (moeny, bf, etc). I do have to agree with Mikey that (well I'm speaking of Dallas), there doesn't seem to be that "weekly" kind of circuit thing that there used to be. I think some of that is attributable to both venues that used to be hot with that crowd closing and just a lack of need. However, I think all the big, organized parties are as big as ever. Purple, in Dallas for instance, seems to get bigger and better every year to me. And who can't have fun dancing under Mickey's hat? To each their own, but I for one enjoy the variety of dance music styles and producers. I, also, for one enjoy circuit parties. But that's me. For one. Hahaha.

i'm over the whole thing though. i was thinking long and hard and then i realized deborah has had some truly crappy mixes before and i survived. "starting with you" anyone? how about "up and down?" i'll just add "beautiful u r" to the list and call it a day. we might have lost cox, but cooper is back with a vengeance! The "Starting With You" one was just not my cup of tea. I do like House/Disco mixes, but I just didn't like it that much. I would like to hear all those unreleased mixes like the one Junior did (I read it was actually mashup using the instrumental from his mix of "Friend Of Mine" by Kelly Price). For "Up And Down", I did like the Hex/Mac Analog mix. But I loved the WWJD (What Would Junior Do) mix by Thee Werq'N B!tches. It sounded exactly like something Junior would have done. It was pleasant.
