I think the next round of performers announced will be:
Lady Gaga Dave Matthews Band Kings of Leon
Then-- maybe: Either Keri Hilson, Zac Brown Band, or the Ting Tings for the BNA performance slot Jay-z, Rihanna, Kanye---- to do, "Run This Town." Keith Urban and/ or Carrie Underwood *(they need a couple more country acts- there were 5/6 last year)

I can flip that question too. If vocals mean so much then how did Taylor Swift land not one but TWO vocal nominations since people claim she can't sing? Do vocals really mean that much then? Will you still black out if she beat someone in a vocal award since we are easily dismissing critical acclaim in album to make way for a Beyonce win? Can't we do the same in vocal for Taylor? Goes both way's. Beyonce can easily win Album and Taylor can easily win vocal because I think they factor in a bunch of other stuff for both. You're taking the "vocal" part way too seriously. Everybody from Sheryl Crow to Shania Twain has won vocal Grammys. Do they have stellar vocals? No! Did they have notable, good material with decent vocals? Yes! I don't think Taylor should win any of the vocal categories either but if she were to win those, it would be based on this logic while what does Beyonce have and I Am.... have to boast about? Not the best reviews, nor the best sales. To be very honest the album didn't have much of an impact at all. If B'day didn't win AOTY I don't see why this one should.

And I thought it was loooooong established that the Vocal categories are not literally for the vocal performance. It is to make the differentiation between instrumental and vocal track. So why in the world are we still talking about it like its an award designated for the best singers.

Uhm how in the world could you type that IASF didn't have much of an impact with a straight face. Not only is it the 2nd best selling cd of 2009, per Billboard's year-end charts. It charted 6 Top 40 singles with NO re-release, I think you'd have to go back at least 10 yrs for a female cd that's done that. One of those singles which has now become a classic with the way its swept pop culture like no other recent song. Also, it made it into the damn AOTY category with other entries from the album nominated in the other General fields! Beyonce is THEE most nominated artist going into the 52nd Grammy ceremony. So again, please justify how she has not made enough impact? I'll wait.

I know hahaha I love it. People want to crack on Bey fans/stans for supporting her but the h.aters are absurd denying the impact she's had on not just 2009 but the last decade in full. Lmao at the denial.

Beyonce is pretty much a legend at this point. There is no reason to disrespect her. I really liked I Am Sasha Fierce.

Beyonce is not a legend. You can not be a legend in your 20's. Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Cher, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Smokie Robinson are legends. Then you have Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige. Beyonce at this point with only three solo albums is just a highly successful artist who looks good in a onesie with her provocative dances. She'll have to work a while for me to bump her to legendary status. Let's talk about it in 2020? K.
But she will be a legend one day but she'll need more then just three albums. If that's the case we can argue that Alicia Keys is also a legend even more so because she is a far more critically acclaimed artist. But we all agree that Beyonce can't act her way out a paper bag, right? LOL!
BTW, most legends are in the Rock and Roll hall of fame so when Beyonce is inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, that's when I will say she's a legend.....or have at least 10 solo albums. Who knows, she might make it in before she's 30, I doubt it though.

Oh God we forgot you were the end all be all source when it comes to naming Legends. Please...when Rolling Stone calls you the Queen of Pop for defining a decade and you are the female artist of the decade, you've earned it. When you do all that with only 3 albums, that's all the more reason to celebrate. When you've already collected 10 Grammy awards only 2 albums into your solo career with another 10 nominations for your third, that's even MORE reason.
Put it to rest. She's a living legend that's not going anywhere soon. It's a fact not an opinion anymore and the accolades she's collected have proven it.
As far as her acting, she's bankable as fuck at the box office so who gives a shit. People obviously love coming out and spending their money to see her so she can't be that bad...give it all a rest.

Beyonce is definitely NOT a legend. None of her other contemporaries are legends either. She might be an icon but saying that she's a legend is a little too much at this point. Let's wait another 10 years before we call her/Britney/Pink/etc a legend.

Ugh. Beyonce fans are always over-exaggerating. Beyonce has NOT collected 10 Grammys with two albums. Three of the Grammys wins were for her work with Destiny's Child. STOP!
Beyonce is NOT a legend. However, you cannot deny that the girl is an icon. "Crazy in Love" and "Single Ladies" were pop culture phenomenons. She is an incredible performer and has been praised a lot for her skills, and she has come a long way from her DC days. So, she deserves her "icon" title. But legend she is not.

^ I am not a Beyonce stan. lol I like her, but am just a casual fan really. lol Perhaps I should have said, "She is on her way to becoming a legend." I just think she has accomplished a great deal already though.

Yes, I do agree with Beyonce will be considered a legend if she stands the test of time like other legends. There have been many artists who have had A LOT of success in their careers but couldn't maintain it. Stevie Wonder, for example, is a legend because he was able to stand the test of time musically, critically, and to a lesser extent, commercially. Same with Michael and Madonna. If Beyonce does this, then she will be a legend, IMO. With her consistent success, she is on her way. Same with Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, etc. But I don't know if this has anything to do with the Grammys. lol

If we are counting Beyonce with Destiny's Child then I'd say she is totally a legend. I am by no means a s.tan of hers. I never bought any of her albums, or seen her concerts but you can't deny her impact of music. Obviously in 20 years from now Beyonce will be remembered. She has countless hits, awards, sales, fans, etc.

Perhaps I'm not a big Beyonce fan then. What she does to me isn't special. She's a very good performer but it isn't special in the way that it was with a Michael Jackson (for instance) and perhaps other peoples idea of "Legendary" is much easier to reach then my idea of legendary. I already named the folks who I felt were legends so if people think Beyonce is a legend at this point so be it, she's your legend, but she'll have to work for years and do much more then she's doing for me to look at her that way. Now I kind of understand why folks were insulted that Taylor was being compared to her because you look at this girl as being in the league of a Madonna or Aretha Franklin (who knows many might even think she eclipses them). If she's still doing this like Madonna is doing it in her 50's then yes she'll get that from me. I never thought Madonna would end up being a legend and look at her, she's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and still to this day is the top grossing female touring act. Beyonce just isn't there yet for me, she's just a 20 something shaking her butt with catchy hooks and doing it well. She's very talented though. Will she have the energy at 40-50 like Madonna? remains to be seen.

Its not just us...check the facts and credits. Fans saying great doesnt mean shiizzz LOL Rolling Stone Called her The Queen of Pop Female Artist Of the Decade AMA International Icon Award World Music Awards Legend Award Critically Acclaimed and Respected. I honestly dont consider myself a Bee st@n but no one is here making up stuff. Everything can backed up..... but she is a living legend at this point. And no Taylor cant compare.

I guess I am a Bee st@n and though Beyonce is definitely on her way to becoming a legend I don't think she's there *quite* yet. She's had 3 incredibly succesful albums with huge singles that have planted themselves within pop culture +the awards, performances, movies, single sales, album sales, her involvement with DC, she will most certainly reach that status within the next decade or so. She just needs to release more albums, and she should release more frequently. It boggles my mind when I think of people like Trey Songs and Keyshia Cole having the same # of albums as her.

OK lets hear the Pop Female Predictions...thats a close one!!! Pretty much everyone except Katy Perry has a good chance of taking this one. I'm hoping for either Pink or Adele. But this could swing any way, I would be glad if Bey takes it too. Still mad about the Kelly Clarkson snub here >:(
